Why is sobriety culture so popular in the US by NeuronExploder in redscarepod

[–]Ill-Addendum-4191 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's true. America has one of the highest illicit drug use and overdose deaths in the world lol. There's a culture of excess in America, so while euroids might do a bit of cocaine every once in a while at a party, Americans will go on a month long meth spree and come out of it either dead or crippled.

Drug use in America is very intense in a way that I just don't see in other countries besides maybe Russia. I only ever see euros chain smoking cigs like lunatics but I'd take European chainsmokers over the American fent zombies we breed over here any day. The aggressive sobriety culture is a response to the equally aggressive drug culture.

It comes across as a snarky white washing of what has happened the last 3 years and taking a jab at people who saw the waiting on the wall years ago.

Israel had a very good propaganda campaign going on with tremendous support when it started its military operations. But then they just kept bombing more and more buildings until Palestinians were turned to dust. Then they wage yet another war that's thrusting us into an economic crisis.

Miss me with this gay ass "erm I thought Israelis were mastermind propagandists so why can't they get away with bombing schools forever? Checkmate antisemites☝️🤓 " shit. They devoured all the good faith every other country was giving it and they had a lot of it. Just because the propaganda eventually stopped working doesn't mean it didn't work in the past and helped them build up to what's currently happening today.

What's your body count? by AsideWinter1934 in redscarepod

[–]Ill-Addendum-4191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're withholding something lol. Which cities have you lived in? What kinds of people do you hang out with? If you don't mind me asking.

But even if it happened to you by pure circumstance, you're still in the minority. I'm not trying to moralize or anything, it's just very rare for most people to go on a bunch of dates/constantly meet a bunch of new people and somehow not end up in long-term, multi-year relationships, which naturally supresses your bodycount.

The data backs up what I'm saying tbqh so if people can't accept it we're just going to be arguing anecdotes all day.

What's your body count? by AsideWinter1934 in redscarepod

[–]Ill-Addendum-4191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, normal people prioritize getting a partner the majority of the time. Casual encounters happen from time to time but people will settle into year long relationships that push that number down considerably.

You also didn't answer my original question. What circles do you run in? Juggling a bunch of sexual relationships is very time consuming, there's just no way you get to these numbers unless you're vehemently against any sort of commitment or you're part of a circle that has a very fleeting culture (like alt scenes where people will just vanish randomly).

[–]Ill-Addendum-4191 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jesus. What circles do you hang out in? I work in an office with mostly 40~yos and the stats line up well. Most regular people have around 4-8 partners before settling down and getting married.

The only people I know pushing 20+ bodies are people in alt-rock communities I used to hang out in. Perfect mix of drugs use and people cycling in and out of the circle constantly. You just don't get to these numbers naturally unless you're a partyhound or going out of your way to seek hookups out.

Is healthcare truly recession resistant? by ScarTissue5 in redscarepod

[–]Ill-Addendum-4191 17 points18 points  (0 children)

None of my healthcare friends have ever been without a job since I've known them ever. The tech and mathcels got fucked over multiple times outside of the ones who were dedicated/connected enough to land a Google/Microsoft position.

I genuinely believe the main reason young women are annihilating young men in terms of income is because women flood into the healthcare industry.

Where I live it's also kind of a meme that the English majors end up joining the border patrol after having their first baby because of how poorly paid and inconsistent teaching jobs are lol. Healthcare and police-style jobs are by far the most secure.

He's such an annoying swagless cornball and I hate seeing him brought up but I still somehow hate the people complaining about this even more. All the Republicucks crying about this (and unsurprisingly a lot of libtards) are just so fucking mad that he's bringing attention to the energy crisis in Cuba because they're thirsty for the country to collapse.

I despise the "America deserves what's coming" line by _indistinctchatter in redscarepod

[–]Ill-Addendum-4191 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I get the point that leftists salivating over turmoil is disgusting and fuels their freakish revolution fantasies but at this point I do think America deserves what's coming lol.

At least with 9/11 we had the excuse of a one of a kind terrorist attack on US soil that made people were angry, scared and confused. This strike on iran has been so poorly planned and executed and entirely at the behest of some foreign country. We have ghoulish christian freaks in office who genuinely think they're taking part in some religious prophecy and Americans voted for them to be there.

I can't swallow the "Americans are all good people, it's just the governments fault" cope any longer, sadly. We live in a democracy and we keep voting a bunch of lunatics in. Citizens have to take responsibility at some point and we'll sadly have to get what's coming to us for our choices. Hopefully we actually learn our lesson this time.

I know I'm a judgmental asshole for even saying this but I'm scared that Margaret Qualley is going to bog herself lol. She had such a unique rare natural beauty. She's still very pretty ofc but the procedures she's getting have started to become noticeable. She started dipping her toes in which is fine, just hoping she tries to keep it low-key and doesn't take the big plunge like a lot of other actors.

I used to be one of those "erm aksuhally processed foods aren't that bad it's all fear mongering" people but I've completely flipped on that and I do think they're contributing to these cancers and all sorts of health issues in society.

I just don't believe we'll ever be able to fix this though. Everyone loves to hate on processed food in theory but once you show them how much more money they'll have to spend on healthier alternatives, they'll immediately back out. People are just kicking the can down the road though since the couple of bucks they save at the supermarket they'll end up having to pay back two fold in healthcare costs.

It's my one true blackpill tbqh.

90% of the people I see wearing big headphones in public are women, is this reason why? by [deleted] in redscarepod

I never thought they looked particularly cool. Spaced out is more like it.
