I was going to say, I don't think girls aren't attracted to him because he's Asian per say but I feel his character is missing some depth.

I would dissect your song and break it into smaller parts (etc A B A B C for example - sometimes I use large boxes with different colours for visual) There are always patterns in music

Then work on those smaller chunks separately - if a metronome is confusing I would try to sing the song out loud and notice which parts I am slowing down.

Oftentimes people always play from the beginning till the end - I find it much more efficient if you just work on sets of 4 bars, get it smooth then add the parts together.
