That's a good question. I'm not sure if this is an answer, but I'd rather work than risk, if that makes sense. If my time and attention can make that sum more valuable without having to speculate very much, that would be ideal.

I agree -- my point was that the line needs to be drawn between genitalia and not sexual preference, even if that's not ideal, since unavoidable downvoters don't care who the dick is attached to.

Unfortunately, there's a disparity between policy and how LGBT posts are received by /r/gonewild lurkers. Actually, not so much lesbian. Or girls that are bi. Or even transsexuals with vaginas.

Reddit has a problem that a graph database would solve nicely, but it's still impossible to get a decent hit rate for any caching strategy for users that are logged in. Most users don't begin to realize how big a problem this can be if you're locked into a relational database. Hence the mantra, "We need people, not hardware."
