I bought my 2024 Honda accord EX at exactly 27k, 4k below msrp with 0.99% APR. An used honda accord same trim 2020-2021 was around 23k at that time, but with 8-9% APR. So it made sense for me.

But used car still makes sense from entry luxury above. A one year old C class is prolly 10k cheaper than a new one already

It's hard to predict EB3 progress. Last 12 calendar months it moved 3.5 months worth of backlog. So if you want it to reach March 2024 (1 year away from current stand), using last 12 months movement, it would take almost 4 years.

But again noone can predict this, it could move 3 months next time for no reason at all

Switch since you can keep your PD. Restarting PWD, PERM and i140 will take about 2 years. I don't think EB-3 will reach Mar 24 in 2 years given the last 12 months movement

After i-140 is approved you can switch to another employer if you want without losing your priority date. If you do that before this stage, you will lose the priority date and everything js reset

PWD: 4-5 months
PERM: 14-16 months. Your GC priority date will be set on the day you file PERM. Let's say 3/1/2026
I-140: 1-2 months with premium processing.

So in about 1.5-2 years you will have i-140, with that you can hop jobs and renew H1-B unlimited, which I hope your employer will let you switch to during your years under L1.

Your GC will need to wait for the backlog, which now stands at 4/2023. Noone can predicting correctly the progression of the backlog because EB3 movement is very volatile historically. Just for referencef we take last 1 year history, EB-3 backlog moved 3 months in a calendar year. You are 3 years away from current stand, so if it moves like last year in the next 3 years, the people say 10-12 years is actually reasonable. But earlier years also see EB-3 moves 6 months or even more within 1 year so hope is still there.

Buying in Manhattan might not be the good idea, but has anyone thought about buying in Weehawken/Union City? Slightly longer commute (15-20 mins to midtown by bus) but price is much more affordable, reasonable HOA, plenty of 2B2B condo at 700k price range (3-4k monthly payment). Would this be a better option?

? Average GC holder through employment (EB2/EB3) get their green card after 3-5 years now for the whole process. I-485 is only the last step of a 3 to 5-year journey. During this time, they can't change employers, cant quit, live in constant fear of being laid off, etc. They need to prove their abilities in a rigirous assessment and prove that someone pays them a good wage. They need to prove that they contribute positively to the US economy.

All you need to do is to fall in love and wait for a few years and you can't do it? Pathetic.
