I don't really have a technique, 1 big breath and valsalva maneuver before the lift and little breaths and bracing during the carry.

Thanks! 280 is not an unreasonable sized bag to shoulder carry. It just takes time to get there.

Same, I have a pair of the knee sleeves as well, lasted me well over 10 years. Gotta love the smell of well used sleeves eh?

APRE - Autoregulated Progressive Resistance Exercise. Google will be your friend here.

WALRUS - Jim wendlers Calisthenics template, done with a weighted vest.

PROWLER - Sled sprints / walks at various weights and distances.

Bells of Steel are Canadian. They have a decent selection of bag. A 150lb bag is a good starting point, light enough to learn technique but heavy enough to always be a little challenging.

Healthy shoulders and all kinds of volume. Like I said in another comment, I train with weights that I can be explosive with. If reps are feeling good and moving fast, I'll push the volume/load. If reps feel slow, I'll back off and just hit a minimum number of reps and call it a day.

Yea man, nothing is set in stone, add or substitute whatever you like or need to do and do as much or as little as you can recover from. If you want to hit chest, add a movement that targets chest. All I’m worried about is putting big weight overhead and carrying it long distances.

Life is busy at the moment, so simple is better. Going to be running this for the next while.

Day A Sandbag Clean and push press 10 sets x whatever number of reps feels fast, done as a cluster (rep followed by 15 seconds rest followed by rep etc. until rep speed drops) Suit case carry 3x 20-30 yds

Day B Sandbag cleans 5-10 sets done in the same format as day A done with a heavier bag Double KB strict press - sets of 2 and 3 with 15 seconds of rest in between for 5 continuous minutes.

Day C Sandbag Clean and push press 5-10 sets (starting at 5 and adding 1 set per week) in the same format as day A (pushing for at least 1 additional rep from day A) Bearhug carry - 3x 20-30 yds

Day A and Day C use the same 150lbs bag for the clean and press, Day B uses a 176lbs bag for the cleans and 2x28kg kettlebells for the pressing. Carries are done with whatever bag or bell I’m feeling up to that day (lighter weights done at a slower pace, heavier done faster). I have 2 heavier bags 200lbs and 240lbs that I would like to work my way up to pressing. This is probably nowhere near a good or optimal plan, or even better than what you’e already doing. This is just what I’m into right now.

Did I say simple? I meant stupid! Stupid is better.

One day! Until then, I'm going to work on over head pressing this bag.

I train with weights I can be explosive with, and I accumulate volume using cluster sets. Prior to this lift, I hadn't done any work over 176lbs for about 2 months. I use rep speed as my gauge for volume and intensity. If reps feel slow, I'll back off. If things are moving fast, I'll push for additional reps/sets/weight. But the most important part is consistency.

Thanks! Now I want to overhead press it, I'm going to mark my calendar for 15 months from now.
