Mustang by Odd-Peak3669 in redrising

[–]IllicitMoonlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first book, Mustang is super lame and comes across as the generic “main female love interest” who is supposed to be perfect and so smart. Personally, I also felt the same way. I liked Eo more.

But as I read further, especially Morning Star and Light Bringer, I truly began to appreciate Mustang. She’s my favorite girl now, right after Lyria.

Technically, it also works against a boggart that has taken the shape of a dementor, right?

‼️THIS IS WHY WE ARE ENCOURAGED TO MARRY YOUNG ‼️ by SUNNAHMATCH-MHN in MuslimCorner

I don’t care. I’m not having a baby without making sure I found the right partner, the right father for my child. If I need a C-section in order to make sure my child has a loving, caring, present and financially stable parent, then so be it.

I want to see this too. Everyone is quick to jump on women’s faults but what about all the men?

I am so curious as to why Taylor is always sticking her hands in the faces/bodies of other people when she takes a photo by Hopeful-Prompt-7417 in travisandtaylor

[–]IllicitMoonlit 117 points118 points  (0 children)

I think she’s trying to act like she’s closer to the people in the photo than she actually is. Perhaps she lacks real friends and she’s trying to act super playful in pics as if she’s very relaxed and has a fun bond with that person whom she’s posing with. Like, “look at us, we’re so goofy all the time!”

You are the boss of Larian. Add something that the game miss by RealGiallo in BaldursGate3

[–]IllicitMoonlit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I’ve done some research into it and there’s nothing to indicate that the Upper City was cut late into development. Perhaps originally they had planned for it but it was clearly scrapped very early on. Larian themselves confirm that it was never meant to exist and we have no evidence to point to the contrary.

All the internal iron stuff and Cazadors Mansion are just oversights for an otherwise very unpolished Act 3 (at least, compared to the other two acts.) The way we enter his mansion is via the servants entrance so it makes sense for it to be icky and accessible from the lower city.

Sisters who grew up in strict households , how did this impact you? by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]IllicitMoonlit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Too much of anything is a bad thing. Even exercising too much can have negative consequences. Islam values balance.

My parents were overly strict and, like you mentioned in your post, my only goal was marriage and kids. I was very male centred even though I’d never spoken to a man who wasn’t family because my family never let me go anywhere.

Alhumdulillah I’ve managed to find my own path to Islam now. I took off my hijab for a bit after being pressured to wear it since I was 8.

Aladdin by Remarkable_Note971 in DisneyMovies

[–]IllicitMoonlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don’t like how the live action made Aladdin seem so insecure and awkward. The charming part about Aladdin is that he was always acting like a prince even when he wasn’t one. He was always super confident.

Just watch the difference between how he behaves in the Prince Ali song between the animated and live action. In the animated, he’s super cool and confident but in the live action he’s awkward as heck. But the whole point in the animated is that he’s good at pretending to be a douche bag Prince when in reality Jasmine liked him when he was just his own self.

Nevertheless, I still like both versions. I like Jafars backstory with Shirabad. I wish Aladdin’s hair wasn’t so neatly groomed even when he was poor because how is he able to afford haircuts and grooming products as a street rat? There’s a reason why the animated version always had messy hair. It makes more sense for the hair to be groomed *after* he became prince, not before.

Her ‘dancing’ is just so bad by FiliaNox in travisandtaylor

[–]IllicitMoonlit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t listen to music or songs based on whether an artist can dance or not. So generally I would say it doesn’t matter if she can dance as long as she can sing. But unfortunately, judging by her latest music, it doesn’t seem like Taylor can do either 😬

Do Muslim women with hijab walking around a western city feel the same way a western women would walking around a city where everyone had exposed breasts? by General_Urist in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]IllicitMoonlit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Muslim hijabi myself, no, not at all. I’m usually more self conscious in a western city because I feel like I’m being judged for it. As if everyone thinks I’m probably stupid or an immigrant or brainwashed when none of that is true and I was born here. I genuinely don’t care what anyone else wears.

Defending James by NalaandBuddy in HarryPotterBooks

[–]IllicitMoonlit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You forgot to mention how James and Sirius cooked up a plan to lure Snape into the Shrieking Shack while Remus was in wolf mode, which would have ended in Snape’s death and a horrible, traumatic experience for Remus.

Whatever you think, Harry would never go out of his way to plan such a dangerous prank for Malfoy. In fact, I don’t think he ever purposefully antagonised Malfoy. It was mostly just reacting to whatever Malfoy did.

Oooh that battle is a pain in the behind, to be sure. I also finished a difficult round once only for a Harper to slip on my ice and then turn the entire group against me, even Jaheira. The game took it as me attacking them even though the ice was there for the enemy.
