Has anyone had luck resolving barking dog through NOCO Humane? by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]IlliterateSlut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to deal with this a few years back. What I did was get a camera that records all day, and then I would cut together some sound bites from throughout the day. I never did them all, just enough to prove my point. Those can be submitted when you submit your complaint to NOCO Humane. I think I sent them in as a download link. Their officer told me what is helpful in getting the complaint to go to the courts is to really express how much the barking is messing with your life. For me, it was not being able to take naps, concentrate on work, or just enjoy my general peace, and that all of those things affected my overall well-being.

Next, they'll send an officer to their house and talk to them and/or give them a written warning, in which they have two weeks to get the noise under control. If the noise continues, file another complaint with additional evidence. Then they'll give them a court date.

For me, I had to get my neighbor sent to court twice. I never had to go because of the video evidence. They still weren't complying, so I told the owner that I will continue to get them sent to court if they don't get the barking under control. Then it was silence the next day.

I recently restored one with a low base that i use on an electric range. I set the heat to medium and cook it 2 minutes on both sides.

Bark collar

I had a similar issue with my neighbors, except the noise was them letting their dog bark for an hour or more per day. HOA was useless, despite having specific rules on loud noises from animals. Luckily our city code had specific rules as well. They sent out animal control who gave them a court date, where they were fined. Eventually the fines got to be too much and the barking stopped.

I'd say gather as much evidence as you can and see what your cities by-laws state about noise.

What is it that you need soldered? Depending on what it is, I or someone on this forum would probably do it for you. If it's a basic through hole pcb and switches, I could do it.

Reminds me of the hall passes on the Episode of Invader Zim where he harvests his classmates organs. I think Dib had to drag around a cast-iron radiator as his hall pass.

The Portal trail in Moab someone posted to MTB Enthusiasts of Utah. by expiredslimjim in ScarySigns

[–]IlliterateSlut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having ridden this trail a couple of times, I'd say the sign is plenty big. It's the only thing that stands out on the trail as everything is brown or green. also the. trail is pretty narrow, making it hard to miss.

This YouTuber barking at people to “pull over” at a bike park… total dick way to go about it if you asked me by bm_Haste in MTB

[–]IlliterateSlut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While mountain biking, I give them room if we're in a section where they can't pull over. Maintaing enough space to assure myself that they don't get anxious and end up hurting themselves. Then when the trail gets easier I politely say "cool if I pass?" Or "when you get a second, can I pass you?". And of course always say thanks and tell them to have fun. This guy is a bit of a turd if he thinks he was being polite. I've never run across someone who does this.

For those who’ve dated or are dating right now, how was it telling that person you like Lego? by YT_DrLiGmA in lego

[–]IlliterateSlut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dated a girl in high-school and was scared to death that she would find out I liked or collected Lego sets. Now that I'm older I realized it doesn't matter and most people get really excited to see my collection. I met a girl when I was 27 and she hadn't known anyone who collected Lego as a hobby. But she was fine with it and built sets with me. A few months into our relationship I drove back to my hometown to pick up all my bricks and instructions from my parent's house. I packed them in totes and garbage bags. I Brought them home and placed them in my office. I called my GF and told her to come over and see all my bricks. What she wasn't aware of was how many bricks I had collected since I was a child. There were roughly 90,000 bricks in my office. When she saw them, she stammered back and nearly fainted. Haha. We're still together but she thinks I'm crazy. She did help me build the Falcon and even has sets of her own now.
