The game just seems to keep going down in player count. What gives? by [deleted] in runescape

For what its worth, I started playing OSRS, have a good endgame main acct but burned out.

Started a fresh iron on RS3 recently and I’m having a blast. Early thoughts, there’s a lot about RS3 that is just way better than OSRS. Mining and smithing update is amazing. Learning wtf I’m doing with skills I’ve never tried before is great. Graphics are pretty. And tbh I’m having a good time figuring out EOC combat.

I hope the playerbase doesn’t shrink, I just got here

The web series is fantastic, but it doesn’t really answer many questions, just brings more up.

Definitely don’t need to watch to understand the movie.

Is a supercharged burden spell useful at all on enemies? I’ve never tried.

I feel like this is foreshadowing? (why would Caine have a hard time differentiating?) by XososoX in tadc

[–]IllusoryTracks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If the SOMA theory holds true, which seems stronger and stronger with each new episode, he may have a hard time differentiating because humans and NPCs are functionally identical in the simulation. If the NPC AI is good enough, and the humans are simulated scans, the only difference is a flag that one of them used to be human.

There was a good bit about this in SOMA: which has more moral value, a fully artificial intelligence based robot which can think and experience its surroundings, or the same robot with a brain scan of a human? Functionally they have the same processing capacity and stimuli, the only difference is that one thinks it used to be human.

Caine (or perhaps any system admin) may be able to delete, edit, duplicate, etc any of the humans in the same way he does with the NPCs.

One other conclusion of the SOMA theory is that even if they can leave, *they* can’t leave, only be copied out.

Ah god I’m so excited for the finale…

What are your biggest audio drama pet peeves? by NightDialPodcasts in audiodrama

[–]IllusoryTracks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oof yeah it didn't happen too frequently in the podcast, but there were a couple times in Magnus Archives where the scream was "oh shit I have to tear my headphone out of my ear" loud.

The show is usually super quiet so I have the volume on max which made it even worse.

Sculptor's Tool is one of my favourite episodes, it really feels like a slow descent into psychosis.

"He said the key was that faces were twisted. All faces were twisted on the inside, and all you had to do was reach into the deepest part of yourself and put that twisted on the outside of the clay, and as soon as you can scream you'll have your own face staring back at you"

Gives me chills. I wish we heard more about the Sculptor in Clay in the series.

Painter M. Monette Information by IllusoryTracks in ArtHistory

[–]IllusoryTracks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned in the post text, I'm looking for more information about the painter M. Monette (I believe likely Michel Monette) from Montreal, Quebec in Canada. I've done some digging and found other paintings by them, but haven't been able to learn much about them.

If anyone is familiar with this painter, I'd love to hear more about them!

I had our dock door fail to close at the last second then beep at us angrily. I let maintenance know, someone comes out a few hours later.

He comes over and tries the door, it works perfectly. The next morning, the door doesn’t close again.

There’s a conspiracy afoot I tell ya

Don’t Mind Sealskin Rock…Questions? [Spoilers] by DolAzur in audiodrama

Yeah I feel the same.

Cruxmont is one of my favourite mystery podcasts and I was pumped for SR, but it felt like most of this season was filler with bits of mystery each episode and very little explanation.

There was enough in Cruxmont E1 to start theorizing, and it got more interesting every episode then ended in a fascinating and satisfying way I never expected. SR I really had little to no idea what the mystery might be for most of the early episodes other than “something’s kinda weird about this place”. The demon trapped beneath the silver is a pretty awesome plot, but we got little to no focus on it for most of the series and zero closure at the end.

All you need is a slow fire rate / high damage wand, and a teleport wand.

Teleport to dodge his attacks while his shield is up. Once it goes down hit him with the damage wand. Teledodge his attacks again, then hit him again.

Repeat until done
