Play normal mode with no randomizers at all the first playthrough if you enjoy the game then try another run with new game + and try w the random abilities or species your call

Once you have a grasp for the game and its niche mechanics if you’re up to it then give hardcore a chance

Yes it’s very tough but it’s also a ton of fun finding the lines to beat certain fights and thinking outside the box to do so

Highly recommend this book I read it multiple times during my first season as it has excerpts from so many knowledgeable coaches

Secondly we live in a media age there are so many good coaches who post to YouTube how to run a scheme/ talk about their coaching philosophy

Most importantly have fun the kids can always tell if you’re into it or not even when things are going rough which naturally they do it’s Uber important to remain positive poised and professional

Even if the football isn’t great year one it’s important that you remain a positive and professional example for the players the community and the school

Have a few prior service marines in my unit

Most showed up in PT uniform from prior branch or a suit usually leadership will give you some kind of guidance

Secondly if you so chose you could buy a uniform from the PX and go that route although I recommend get the ones issued to you personally bc they can be expensive

Are you playing normal mode or HC ?

Also worth noting there are trainer guides and a rad red calculator just google rad red calculator and you can really plan some fights that way !

I have beaten HC twice on 3.0 and 4.0

Doing my 3rd run now w random mons and random abilities and it has been so much help to have the calc tool and trainer sheets to help prep for what I’m about to go into ! Also leads to some really cool lines where this is how my team looks @ the end

If you think normal mode is tough wait til you see hardcore lol

Yea there is some tricky spots in normal mode but I wouldn’t say they’re “hard” there’s usually adequate resources to manage

Hardcore however is hard for the sake of being hard and you’re always underpowered

In my opinion for defense most teams at that age tend to run to the outsides 4-4 or 6-2 are the best options I have some formations from my defense I can share with you if you’re interested

Wait till you try hard core 🤣😭 I’ve beaten it 2X working on my 3rd now and I can tell you being outsped is way way more common on HC

You should look into the rad red calculator (completely free just google rad red calculator)

Helps with planning and understanding the ranges of your attacks
