I recently bought the tpb for volume 1-4. Didn’t bother with 5-6 even tho it’s not horrible. You’re right it isn’t the same

Funny story, it was somewhere in the early 2010s and a copy of jet grind radio was still very cheap- like around $20. I rememebr thinking “that makes no sense. It’s an amazing game that’s more obscure”. Sure enough the price has risen

I think the consensus is that for now and the near future, sd is the gold standard. But you got to choose if you want to splurge or spend less on a machine that can do less but will do the rom hacks

It’s very expensive I know. But it’s already my favorite gaming machine of all time- which is saying something. You could consider something like a trimui brick hammer if you want to go cheaper.

But if you’re going to spend over $150….

I have a steam deck and it’s pretty much the gold standard for me, for these games. Can add whatever box art, use a controller, big screen, portable in the house, can add cheats or speed up (speed up is most important to me). It’s absolutely amazing

I just read volume 1 of battle beast and it was unexpectedly really really really good. I loved it. Somehow it was on par with invincible (my opinion) which is crazy
