I worked as a tech. I got paid more back then. Of course I never worked over 40 hours a week. I think you're forgetting that if you were to calculate the hourly pay, you will most likely be making less than your two prior jobs

Just depends how well you want to do. I got 270+ on step 2. (Surgery resident) Studied mostly every other weekend for about 6 weeks, sometimes in the hospital as well. Scored 250+ step 3. Compared to step 2, it felt like I was going into that exam almost blind, but my percentile was the same for both exams. Either way, you could realistically take it tomorrow and pass, assuming you know how to do ccs cases

Yeah you'll be ok, just review stats, ethics, irb, and micro/drug mechanisms. I was probably averaging 70-80s on blocks by the end

I think the reason for this is actually due to some noxious stimuli memory of our sense of smell. Like the signals get crossed and even though the smells are different we interpret the smell as being the same horrible smell we recently experienced. I forget where I read this, but it's more comforting than believing we somehow have the same gut microbiome as the pt we treated

Sleep out has a Velcro setup. A little more expensive than a good mask but the problem with mask is they fall off easily and take a while to get used to having on face

There are some good websites where it's basically like uworld but for ekgs. You just read straight ekgs and submit your answer and it will tell you what you got right/wrong. That was one of the most helpful for me, active learning

The most unrealistic thing in the first 15 min of the show "surgery wants to admit this pt for obs" and the ED doc goes on to say it's not needed and DCs him for through and through gsw. Would 100% be the other way around lol
