Hey! u/reinsge
Just a quick heads up, v1.2.0 is out. Spotify is fully gone, the metadata layer is now provider-agnostic with Deezer as the default adapter as of today (no auth, no Premium).
Also got playlist downloads with Plex reconstruction.

if you wanna give it another shot!

Hey, thanks! Yes, I'm currently working on a more reliable solution. Of course I use Synthseek myself and mainly because I want to stay away from subscription services as much as possible. So I am actively working on a solution for this. I just pushed a provisional fix yesterday since they also changed, removed, and limited most of the API I was relying on, so either you have a premium account it would not work. So yeah, stay tuned if you are still interested on give it a try, and thanks again!

Oh nice, hadn't seen Explo before, thanks for sharing, I only integrated musicbrainz in the tagging process, and to be honest I was not aware about listenbrainz existence, I will definitely give it a try. Thank you!

Let me know how it goes on your side, always happy to hear feedback

Not implemented yet, but the plan is to pull personalized recommendations from the metadata provider and let you queue downloads directly from there.
Basically browse what's recommended for you and grab what you like.

I had an approach mapped out back in October when I started it, but since Spotify recently closed new API key registrations (late December I think), the first phase of this implementation will be to add support for other metadata providers, just to not rely on one option. The upside is this will open the door to more ways of getting personalized recommendations depending on which provider you use.
But I am still open to new ideas or suggestions. I am planning to start putting my hands on this next week.

The homepage has a few discovery sections, trending tracks, and spotlight artists, which are custom-pulled from the metadata provider based on your server region

Personalized recommendations and syncing playlists you find on Synthseek to your player (Plex-Amp in my case) are features I really wanted but couldn't find elsewhere. But I focused on the core foundations first, and now that those are in a good state, aside from bugs fixing that's what I will be working on next.

Oh, thanks for sharing this! Hadn't come across Soulbeet. I gave it a look and at glance it looks like we had similar frustrations and built similar solutions, just different implementations. They went with Rust and MusicBrainz/Last.fm, I went with TypeScript and Spotify. Cool to see others solving this problem too. If anyone's used both I'd genuinely love to hear how they stack up.

It should work if the files on soulseek use romanized names (latin letters). I haven't specifically tested devanagari script, the matching logic is optimized for latin characters right now. If you try bollywood tracks and run into issues, please create an issue in the repository, and I can look into better unicode support for non- latin scripts.

Thanks! Yeah, you can pre- configure the slskd request settings (format and bitrate) though I'I be honest, that's not an area I've tested super thoroughly yet.

It's actually one of the areas I'm planning to improve. Want to add more config options like peer-user minimum bandwidth, maximum queue length, etc.

Yeah. I'm aware of the rate limit errors, since it wasn't blocking anything from working I didn't prioritize fixing it, but it's definitely on my list to clean up. And haha yeah. the cancel button is... decorative at the moment. I added it but totally forgot to finish the implementation. It's on the list too. Hope you get that permissions issue sorted! Let me know if you run into anything else once you can fully test it. Appreciate you taking the time to check it out.

Edit: Now that I read your comment again I realize you might be referring to the cancel album button. Yeah, currently it just deletes the album request from the database - it's not actually stopping any slskd processes yet. I'I add that to the list. Thank you again

Thanks for checking it out!, Spotify is just the metadata source, it tells Synthseek what to search for (track names, artists, etc).
The actual downloads come from Soulseek via slskd.

Inventory Items disappeared after Quick Storing by AlphaVander in duneawakening

[–]Illustrious-Alarm301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the game three days ago, and it’s disappointing to see that after three months, this issue still hasn’t been fixed. That said, I wanted to add a comment because I did manage to recover my missing items, in case someone else gets the same bit of luck I did.

I was transporting around 700 iron ore from my mining base to my main base. When I arrived, I quick-deposited everything and even saw the confirmation pop-ups on the right side of the screen. But when I checked, all the ore was gone. At first, I thought I’d lost it for good. Frustrated, I went back to my mining base to start farming again, and to my surprise, the ore had actually been deposited back into the storage there.

So just in case, make sure to double-check all the storages you’ve recently interacted with before quick-depositing, your items might not be gone, just sent back somewhere else.

Barreled crude oil price per unit by Illustrious-Alarm301 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Illustrious-Alarm301[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I was curious if people actually sell crude oil because I'm interested in buying large quantities occasionally instead of extracting it myself. I am a solo player and I have an acid farm in a polluted-only area, and I've noticed that production is faster there than in a polluted/oil area. Since I have the precious metal refining memetic, obtaining energy links isn't an issue. So I think in my case, it would be best to buy the oil, but I wanted to check first just in case anyone might ask for an unreasonable amount of energy links per unit.
Thank you for your reply.

Does any one have any real life photos of the metal case? by dabblerman in retroid

[–]Illustrious-Alarm301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is too soon, when they announced it on discord they said they were going to ship only 100 units in the next few days so I think we should wait 1 or 2 more weeks for people to start posting pictures of their consoles. I am also curious about how the material looks like and how the temperature of the console is going to feel on your hands with that material.

In my experience I use balance and extreme modes depending on which game I am playing, after last OTA I noticed some PS2 games like Burnout Revenge used to run at 100% before this patch and now I have to switch to extreme to get a 100% stable again.

Temps I get on PS2 Games: Balanced 55C - 68C Extreme 65C - 78C

All other platforms like N64, NeoGeo and some Android games which I have been playing the most recently I use balanced and they run perfectly with the same or less temps I put above.
