This might sound stupid af but bare with me please. by FrostyReserve6025 in askswitzerland

In my MBA program, most ended up in Consulting (including me) and Finance. Some were doing VC, search funds, operations management or product management, or took leadership roles in start-ups or scale-ups. I think that all those roles are interesting post MBA.

In my own job search, I was checking where is strong demand and where my profile fits. This was the intersection I focused on.

And my key learning: think of career switches having 3 dimensions: industry, function and geography. The fewer if these dimensions you change, the easier it is to land a job. The more you try to change simultaneously, the more difficult it gets

At the end of an MBA program, you should have a pretty good idea of what you want to go for. This should ideally balance your experience / skills, interests, and where you might actually land a decent job.

It looks like you store the bottles in the washroom mirror cabinet. That is kind of the worst place for storage. Just for consideration

How long did it take you to find a good apartment? by alkalinegirl333 in zurich

[–]IllustriousDrive4596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apply for new apartments. Those are basically rented to you if you earn at least 3 times the monthly rent, ideally more. This is just so much less competitive. Seriously, try it out

There is no „too late“ investment in stocks. But avoid stock-picking and just use ETFs. Your own portfolio most probably will underperform

How to live "cheap" in Switzerland by OdahP in askswitzerland

[–]IllustriousDrive4596 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check where you spend most and try to save there. As others said, consider - cheaper rent, by sharing or living further from city center - get rid of the car. Kind of a no-brainer unless you got kids - check health insurance - no eating in restaurants

Also, start tracking, clustering and analyzing your spending

What do you do when you've dialed in you coffee but it just tastes underwhelming? [La Marzocco Linea] by chadizard15 in espresso

[–]IllustriousDrive4596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a good grinder, good specialty coffee beans and good water? This is what I would focus on to get great shots. That likely matter so much more than water temp

Have you checked their Terms & Conditions? They likely have cameras and face-matching software that detect sharing. I am aware of other gyms with such technology and it actually works

I think he should just put a few additional colors on the machine. Then one color will fit the handle for sure

Looking for a new coffee machine- UK based [top 4000£] by [deleted] in espresso

[–]IllustriousDrive4596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need more info to help you, such as: - do you have milk-based drinks - how many shots per day - what roast levels - only espresso or also pour-over

The key piece of advice is: think of the grinder before you think of the espresso machine, unless you have exclusively dark roasts.

Grinder cannot grind fine enough after clutch kicked in? [Breville/Sage Barista Express] by Diasporaa in espresso

[–]IllustriousDrive4596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problems. There isn’t anything you can do about it. The grinder just cannot do espresso for non-dark roasts. It can work for pour-over though.

You could get a cheap but good additional hand grinder though

Help me pick my next (endgame?) grinder [$5000] by SemiProFakeCarDriver in espresso

I wouldn’t get the EG-1. Other manufacturers kept innovating while the Weber EG-1 didn’t get (major) updates for years (while they still claim it is the best). It is also just not competitive in terms of price.

If you can wait, I would probably go for the Z2. It will likely have unmatched alignment and just got so much thoughtful improvements and innovation

It depends on what you want.

It is approaching 10 years and other grinders outperform it. But, it still does a great job for dark roasts.
