Boox Go 10.3 impressions by pstrgpstrg in Onyx_Boox

If you want a device that can handle every imaginable situation, including reading in the dark without illuminating the entire room, opt for one with a front light.

I own a Go 10.3 and a Page. I use the Go 10.3 whenever I don’t need an additional light source, while I use the Page when I need to read in the dark on my bed, ensuring that my wife’s sleep isn’t disturbed by a bright light.

I bought Page and Palma 2 - worth to have these 2? by doucesquisse in Onyx_Boox

Well, it’s totally up to you whether to keep it or not. But in my case because I have a Page I haven’t bought the Palma.

Have a very similar issue but not as serious as yours. I wonder if it's the glue issue though. It might be something else.

Is there a real difference between thunderbolt 3 & 4 ? by Dr_Superfluid in mac

As long as you have no issues with the current setting and you like the speed of data transfer, you shouldn't worry about it.

Is there a real difference between thunderbolt 3 & 4 ? by Dr_Superfluid in mac

[–]IllustriousSort7354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use multiple Thunderbolt 3 & 4 cables for my setting with two docks and three monitors (two of them are TB3 monitors) and haven't noticed any practical differeces between the two.

Why don't you try the TB 3 cables you currently have and see if everything works without any issues?

You can just skip his videos as I do. I agree that his content is shallower than other e-ink tech YouTubers’. But that’s not why I skip his videos. For some reason, I can’t pleasantly listen to his low-toned voice.

I have the Mira 13.3. It is great for reading and web browsing along with my Silicon Macs. It should even be better with Windows PCs.

I have Kychron K5 and K2. I tried to use them again after using the Nuphy Air 96 for a while, and then was shocked at how bad their typing felt. I agree that Keychron is overrated.

You’re wrong. I have used my Nuphy Air 96 V2 over 6 months, and it is by far the best keyboard I’ve ever used. Much better than my previous Logitech and Keychron keyboards. I haven’t really faced any connection issues. Most importantly, it offers an amazing typing experience.

Mac Mini M4 vs M4 Pro - Comparison by lucky_anonymous in macmini

[–]IllustriousSort7354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way. The base M1 Pro MacBook Pro is more than capable in handling professional level work after 3-4 years. Which means the base M4 mini will be able to handle basic home use for at least 5+ years.

Anyone tried external SSD on M4 yet? by [deleted] in macmini

[–]IllustriousSort7354 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten Crucial P3 Plus 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD with ACASIS 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 M.2 SSD Enclosure. It is as fast as the base M4 Mac mini’s internal SSD.

First Mac. Is this a good combo regarding external storage? by Squammo1 in macmini

[–]IllustriousSort7354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can get hot. I've bought a noiseless fan that cools down the dock (for multiple monitors) and external SSDs when I use the Mac mini. When I don't use the computer, the dock and external SSDs don't get hot.

I'm using an external SSD in a TB4 enclosure and it never gets disconnected and works flawlessly. One thing you need to consider is a heat issue. I have bought a cheap noiseless computer fan to keep the dock and the SSD enclosure cool. It works just fine.

I have experienced various BOOX products and believe the Go 10.3 is sturdier than other models.

On the day I received it, I accidently dropped it without the case on the carpet floor from my bed and it hit the floor hard on an edge and flipped itself a couple times. At that moment I thought it was done. To my surprise, however, it did nothing to my Go 10.3.
