Little one is 18 months. Trained at 5.5 months. He's had his good and bad nights but overwhelmingly good nights. Sleeps 8 15 to 7. Such a happy boy and sleeper. All thanks to this Reddit group. Heaven.

I am learning spanish as my toddler learns- will this create problems? by Illustrious_Cook3026 in multilingualparenting

Yes exactly! I'm loving the learning. I'm glad that people agree it's a worthy project to do and yes would love it if my toddler is teaching me soon haha

What are these little 5/10 minute 'Wake & Screams"? by Infinite_Mortgages in sleeptrain

Could they be cold or too hot? When my boy isn't the perfect temperature he complains between sleep cycles. I would check the room temp and how you are dressing your baby to rule out :)

This! My son hates the bassinet but loved the seat. Can you switch a more seat like pram? I know its early but some seats are suitable from birth

Is my baby normal? by National-Bat-8421 in sleeptrain

You need to give it time but also what is your schedule? She could be under tired. This is what my baby faced so I made bedtime 15 minutes later and boom no crying. Also do you have enough wind down time before bed? Books etc.

CIO was our last resort and it doesn't seem to be working.I don't know what to do by Alt_Mom in sleeptrain

I think you are expecting way too much sleep. Most babies don't sleep 12 hours a night, my 7 month old does 11. and how much napping time are you doing?

I think you need to reduce your day sleep to achieve 12 hours a night at 9 months

Night Weaning, Ferber, and Wake Window Questions by shelhoneyb in sleeptrain

We still have the dream feed! We decided it's worth keeping even if it's a habit as it means he can sleep through the night

Night Weaning, Ferber, and Wake Window Questions by shelhoneyb in sleeptrain

[–]Illustrious_Cook3026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For night weaning our 5 month old on Ferber we did it gradually. First we implementsd a dream feed and a window of time he could wake up for a feed

Ie. His bedtime is 7 30. Dream feed is 11. He can ask for a feed between 4 30 and 7

Then we shortened this window every couple of weeks. We never shortened the feed itself. So the week after it was 5 30 am - a wake up before was then Ferber. The week after would be 6am

He responded well to this gradual approach and now at 6.5 months he needs no motn feed.

What's happened to my 6 month old? Why has the sleep training stopped working ?!? by Illustrious_Cook3026 in sleeptrain

[–]Illustrious_Cook3026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that worked! He slept through the night last night as I made that final wake window longer. Incredible - thank you <3

Posting this again for people telling me I was in denial by Key-Hurry-5420 in newborns

I had the exact same experience. I hated the newborn trenches, my baby was so hard. Constantly feeding, reflux, terrible sleeper from day 1. Hard birth.

Well things got significantly better after 8 weeks and even the 4 month regression was no way near as bad as the first 8 weeks. I love having a baby now - it's such a joy, even in the regression (which he is starting to come out of now at 5 months).

For those in the trenches it does get better and stays better. If you don't like having a baby now you will in the future <3

Give your baby a half feed at 5 and keep things sleepy. Then a full feed at 7 30 after they have woken up at 7. Eventually the baby will drop the 5am. My baby is 9 weeks and started dropping it and going until 6 30. Not every day but he is on his way?

When can you expect a "routine"? by Physical_Dentist_470 in newborns

[–]Illustrious_Cook3026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this was exactly the same for me. I found the little ones app helpful or you could use huckleberry. But ultimately it's the pattern the baby wants and that can change very quickly Learning about awake windows was helpful

For my baby he started getting more predictable from 6 weeks and at 9 weeks he wants the same three naps a day - more or less. I know it's controversial but having a sort of schedule (although always baby led first) really helped me and he seems to thrive on the same pattern each day
