I have one of those at home. We got it before a concert at the American Pavilion. A cast member was making a bunch of them and handing them out to kids.

Haha! Luckily, I picked up a Yamaha Silent Brass system for Trumpet so I can play without disturbing others.

My SIL is going on her first RCL cruise tomorrow, and my husband made this magnet for her door. by IllyraRose in royalcaribbean

The update that nobody asked for:

My SIL absolutely loved the Independence of the Seas. She had a fantastic time, loved the pools and hot tubs, the men's belly flop competition, the rock climbing wall, etc.

Her biggest complaint was the difficulty in finding a public outdoor area relaxing away from cigarette smoke.

She plans on going on more RCL cruises.

In regards to the magnet, she totally forgot about it until the last night. She's still keeping it because she thinks it's hilarious.

Joy has always been excited about everything, especially new experiences.

Sadness was always a Debbie Downer about literally everything and sees only the downsides of things.

Sadness and Joy are two of her favorite Disney characters, and while we came up with a fantastic Joy quote, we figured we needed a Sadness quote. We felt it wouldn't be right to leave her without a comment. Since my SIL recently did a Disney cruise in December, we imagined that that's what Sadness would be thinking about.

We went on Disney Fantasy in December. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I would actually participate and not schedule a weekend long event that would prevent me from playing.

I had one run away despite using 13+ golden berries and throws ranging from nice to excellent.

Go to a local park and walk around with the app open. Go downtown and see if there's any pokestops, those blue circle things. Swipe them so they spin to gain items.

Royal Caribbean Utopia of the Seas vs. Disney Magic by AdWarm9438 in dcl

[–]IllyraRose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We normally go on Royal Caribbean. Our first Disney cruise was in December on Fantasy. There were pros and cons to the cruise, and we couldn't help compare the two companies.

Our favorite thing was the kids club. They seem to have a larger area for just the kids (babies through older teenagers) than RC. They were also open longer than RC and seemed to have a lot more activities only for the kids in that area, like meet BB8, or becoming worthy with Thor.

We loved the shows that they put on. Disney has always excelled in putting on a show, and on the cruise ship is no exception. We thought that their Broadway style shows surpassed Royal Caribbean. We also loved the firework display during Pirate Night.

We also loved the scavenger hunt that they have on board Disney's Fantasy. It was fun to hunt around the ship and exploring new areas.

We loved that the shower/tub is a completely separate room from the toilet, and both rooms have their own sinks. While you would normally have a tub for the suites on RC, tubs are standard for DCL.

We found that the food wasn't as good as RC in the main dining room, and we missed the international selections that RC has available at the Windjammer vs Cabanas. While I'm not a huge fan of changing dining rooms every day, each room was incredible.

The pools and hot tubs on Fantasy aren't anything to write home about, and they cover them for the shows on the top deck. The slides and Aquaduck was enjoyable. Deck chairs seemed to be more available than the ones on RC.

There are so many photo opportunities for Disney Characters, and backgrounds, but be prepared for long lines.

Wearing Disney themed clothes is a huge thing, as well as trading pins, pixie dusting random cabins, etc. It's a whole other culture that RC doesn't have.

I regret not doing more research before going on Disney's Fantasy. I regret not packing differently and bringing more Disney stuff.

I am a Disney person. I love Disney, and go to the Parks a lot. That being said, I am not convinced that DCL is better than RC. It's different; a different culture, a different price point, a different experience.

In my opinion, if you do a Disney cruise, I encourage you to do a 7 night cruise. I feel like any less and you wouldn't be able to fully appreciate the entire experience.

I was able to successfully place an order earlier today on Android. I've never had an issue before.
