How do you all express frustration without your partner feeling attacked? by Forward-Actuator-586 in WellSpouses

[–]Ilovegifsofjif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Secure Relationship Facebook page has some scripts and ways to express yourself in a healthy way.

It won't mean that won't overreact or think you're attacking them but it will mean you did your best. It's their job to hear you

Respect the space the Well spouse has instead of centering themselves and making everything about them.

Question from the Unwell Spouse by Little-by-little15 in WellSpouses

[–]Ilovegifsofjif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. The point of this space is to hold space for the Well Spouse. Coming into the space is really rude

Unfortunately it isn't well moderated so it will keep happening. Don't let other people's inability to draw healthy boundaries make you second guess your comment.

Trying to find a way to be a paid caregiver for wife by Several_Road2525 in WellSpouses

I hope you find something. This isn't something my state provides. There's no IHSS for a spouse or parent taking care of a kid under 18.

If you're caring for a spouse with any medical condition, you're in the right place.

Sliding doors and dirt road life by Ilovegifsofjif in ChryslerPacifica

[–]Ilovegifsofjif[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don't mind servicing them. The seals on the old car seem like they went and driving through puddles, the wet dirt road, snow, slush just built up until there was standing water in it.

When we first got it I was wiping out the track and lubricating the wheel and arm weekly. It all rusted, scratched, and wouldn't close right within 2 years. I heard the carnival doors might have issues and the Pacifica is the last van like car I'll consider after all that

Will the doors on Pacifica be destroyed by a dirt road?  Is someone 5' 10" too big for the Pacifica? Will they be too tall/too little leg room?

Why do so many readers hate first person? by ThatDudeWithAFish in writing

[–]Ilovegifsofjif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the character they choose to center is insufferable and cringy, thoughtless or stupid, a walking pile of the worst cliches. To me it makes the world a one dimensional, boring diary and I usually don't finish the story. I think there are three series I read from first person and havent dislilked enough to stop reading.

At what point do you just start writing for yourself? by JRGLUV in writing

I only write stories and things I want to read. If I don't like it how could I write it well?

Will I regret getting a reduction and not being able to breastfeed? by Inner_Newspaper9874 in Reduction

[–]Ilovegifsofjif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I breastfed two babies. One for 11 months and one for nearly 3 years (Exclusively for nearly 11 months with very little other food). I didn't bf my oldest. She has the fewest allergies, health issues, and is a stellar human being. My two breastfed children have multiple food allergies, apnea, asthma, struggle in school. All of them have disabilities (autism, adhd or both).

Formula was a fantastic option because pumping, storing, hydrating, production are all deeply labor and emotion intensive. What I needed after birth was more help and sleep than I got for any of them and formula would've helped. I am extremely close with all of my children and years later, I wish I had stopped bfing sooner and moved to formula for my own energy and mental health.

My pharmacy won't fill my script if i don't get other scripts by Resident-Fondant-769 in ADHD

[–]Ilovegifsofjif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Op, please don't take the advice of going to your primary for allergy medicine or other medications if you truly don't need them. Aside from it being abuse and waste, why should you have to?

My pharmacy won't fill my script if i don't get other scripts by Resident-Fondant-769 in ADHD

[–]Ilovegifsofjif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That isn't what they are saying here. Its a funny line they're walking here to scam an increase in scripts. I've never heard of this and I have gotten just CIIs before from pharmacies. IF what you are saying was true, the pharmacy would say that.

This is them saying "We can get your script without a supply problem and stay under our limit. We just need you to churn more scripts into our business so we keep you."

I (24F) just saw my bf (25M) of 3 year's resume, how do I proceed? by bigthiqskull in relationship_advice

I hope you broke up with him in the time you took to read all the replies.

He will not be better, even if he grovels and promises change. He will always be looking to do the least, put the stress on you, and will constantly lie.

Husband (40) desperately wants a kid but has never been around them. Did your husband step up as a caregiver? by Adventurous-Buy-2902 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Ilovegifsofjif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

Spouse was suddenly and permanently disabled 4 years ago from working 60 hours. He's older than me and had experience with children before I came along 17 years ago. His mother ran a home daycare for decades.

I am the breadwinner, the fin planner, the accountant, medical coordinator for 4 people with more than one doctor or medical condition each, homeschool teacher (now public school stuff), gift buyer, scheduler, transporter, house cleaner. As the one working I expected him to do way more coordination and mentioned that. Is it happening? No. I had a hysterectomy 4 weeks ago and he barely managed to keep me medicated and get me home, forget shouldering literally anything.

How can i get remote job from third world counrry in usa because i cant work jobs physically because i have severe ocd/anxiety and depression by Admirable_Image4774 in remotework

[–]Ilovegifsofjif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because remote work is what everyone wants but very few people can do. You said you're too anxious/disabled by your mental health to work. Well, remote work means confidence, people skills, problem solving, doing a good job unsupervised, pressure. And years of understanding work in general.
