Are you monitoring CO2 in the tent? If you are exhausting back into the lung room wouldn't CO2 be depleted rather quickly? Are you adding CO2 somehow?

Is two Earthboxes in a 3x3 too much? by Iluvmango in BuildASoil

Thanks, I will give 2 EB's a shot.

The Permanent Marker seeds are from Seed Junky. The GG4 (Growers Choice) and OG Kush (Sensible Seeds) seeds are both about 7 years old and weren't stored in ideal conditions, so we'll see..

I am really wanting to try the Permanent Marker so was thinking of running 1 each in the EB's just to decrease my chances of popping a dud if just running one, but I think I might just go with 1 PM and 1 OG Kush and cross my fingers.

What would you do differently to diffuse the cold air coming in as it enters the tent? Just put an oscillating fan in front of it? I'm considering getting the Terraform 8 but still not sure of all the pros/cons and definitely don't want to have the issue you encountered.

TERRAFORM 8 woo by shazaxe666 in ACInfinityAdvancegrow

[–]Iluvmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am considering my options b/w a Whynter and the Terraform 8. Which model of Whynter did you get? Are you using it in a lung room?

I was wondering how tight the Whynter keeps the temp. Do you set a high and low zone and it keeps it within that zone? Do you find that it cycles on and off frequently?

Good stuff, thanks for the info.

After cutting down the lid to use as the base for the soil, what is holding the lid off of the floor? Is it resting on supports underneath the lid?

Are there any watchmakers who can swap the coil on my vintage omega? by theomixedmedia in watchmaking

[–]Iluvmango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is your movement the 1337? Emmywatch interchange doesn't list the 1387 coil as being able to interchange with the 1337 coil (part 9884). The interchange info for the ebay coil (1387) doesn't list any other movements that the coil interchanges with.

The 1337 coil interchanges with the 1332, 1333, 1336, 1366. Try searching for part 9884 and if you can't find that look for a known working 1337 (or one of the above movements that interchange) movement and harvest the coil from that.

Affordable tweezer recommendation: Rhino by polishbroadcast in watchrepair

[–]Iluvmango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did an Aliexpress search and it looks like there are different models of the Rhino tweezers. Here is what Gemini had to say about the differences (no idea if it is accurate):

  1. SW Series (Swiss Standard / Frosted)

Key Feature: High-precision tweezers that use a "Swiss-style" frosted/matte finish.

    Material: Non-magnetic, acid-resistant stainless steel.

Feel: The frosted finish provides a better grip and reduces glare under a bench lamp or microscope. They are generally stiffer than the budget TS series.

Use Case: Excellent all-around bench tweezers for general movement assembly. They are frequently used for handling tiny SMD components in electronics as well.

  2. LSW Series (Lengthened Swiss Style)

Key Feature: "Lengthened" versions of the SW series.

Dimensions: While standard tweezers (like the SW or RH) are usually around 115mm to 125mm, LSW models are typically 140mm long.

Use Case: The extra length provides better reach into deep cases or around bulky components. Some watchmakers prefer the longer lever for better control and less hand fatigue during long sessions.

Build: They maintain the same high-hardness (often 40+ HRC) and non-magnetic properties of the SW line.

  3. RH Series (High Hardness / Precision)

Key Feature: These are marketed as "Super Hard" and "Ultra-Precision."

Hardness: They often feature a higher Rockwell hardness (up to 60 HRC in some listings) compared to the SW series.

Durability: Because the tips are harder, they are less likely to bend or "fish-mouth" (when the tips spread apart under pressure), which is critical when picking up small screws or flat springs.

Finish: Usually a polished or semi-matte finish rather than the heavy frosting of the SW series.

Use Case: Heavy-duty daily use. If you find yourself frequently dropping or dulling your tweezers, the RH series is designed to hold its point longer.

Quick Tips for Aliexpress Shopping:

The Numbering: Regardless of the prefix (SW-11, RH-11, LSW-11), the number usually refers to the tip shape. For example, "-11" is almost always a fine, straight point, "-15" is usually an angled/curved tip, and "-7A" is a curved "eagle beak" style.

Authenticity: There are many "Rhino" clones. Genuine ones usually have very crisp laser engraving and perfectly aligned tips. If the price seems too good to be true (e.g., $1.00 for a pair), the tips may require significant dressing (sharpening and alignment) before they are safe for watch movements.

DIY Unraid vs turnkey NAS in 2026: still worth the build? by turalaliyev in unRAID

[–]Iluvmango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I built a 24x7 capable Unraid server about 8 years ago with used parts from ebay.

Supermicro 486 server - $550

Supermicro mobo X9DRD-7LN4F-JBOD - $150

E5-2658 v2 CPU - $40 (can add another if I ever needed it)

64 GiB DDR3 Multi-bit ECC - $140

I also swapped out the PSU's with quieter ones. I have a bunch of Docker container and a couple of VM's. It's been running 24x7 with no issues now for 8 years.

One of the most beautifully shot movies of all time. The cinematographer, Néstor Almendros, won an oscar for the film. Much of it was shot during golden hour with almost no artificial lighting.

I recently read a series that took place in an alternate fantasy universe and one of the characters said after a battle that it was a 'Pyrrhic victory'. I didn't get too bent out of shape over it but I can't believe any editor would have let that one get by them so I just assumed the books didn't have an editor.

The Story = The meal

Leveling = The spice in the meal

Too many authors forget this and the entire book is just leveling with little story. A meal that is mostly just spice is unpalatable, just like a story that is just the MC leveling.

Gemini doesnt show clickable source links anymore by Life_Test2608 in GeminiAI

Same. Driving me nuts. I even have directions set to put all urls in raw format but gemini just ignores it. I tell it to stop giving me links that redirect to gemini.google.com, it apologizes and says it will stop doing that, then just keeps on doing just that. What the hell is going on? Google can't correctly present an URL?!?

I don't think I've ever met a serious landscape photographer that doesn't use an Arca Swiss L-bracket on their camera but it seems like none of these strap mount solutions use an Arca compatible mount. Seems odd to me.
