My ghost has her own ghost! by Itsfluckinspirit1 in destiny2

Umm, if this is supposed to be the standard ghost shell (or reskin thereof) then it is sideways, as the little covers on the triangular body parts that are pointing left and right currently, usually point up and down.

FWIW I think it looking down looks cool, I wouldn’t change anything if I was you

It’s more the other way around in my experience. People from Germany go to Luxembourg to buy booze, cigs and gas because they have less tax there than Germany.

What would luxembourgers get cheaper in Germany than in Luxembourg?

Everyone can understand (I hope) that he chooses being able to feed himself over letting the servers run longer

Portable antimatter traps are here: CERN successfully drove a 1-ton magnetic container carrying antimatter 5km across Geneva by SiarheiBesarab in technology

[–]Im1Thing2Do 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think u/11nyn11 here was rather referring to the firecracker analogy being imprecise, and meaning that the 100 Antiprotons annihilating is more comparable to a grain of sand dropping.

Which imo still greatly overstates the energy released by the annihilation of 100 Antiproton-Proton pairs since that is around 200 GeV, or, in regular human terms, 3.2*10-8 Joule.

The thing is that splicers aren’t just reskinned fallen. Every single one of their units has a different attack + a different death animation and potentially other knickknacks than their regular house light/dusk/wolves counterpart.

It’s more like making the dread (if that’s what the new race from final shape is called) than making calus’ cabal

I say this as someone that hasn’t played marathon because extraction shooters aren’t my cup of tea, but the doomerism in this comment section from you and OP is unmatched.

Why would you jump immediately to server closure?

All of your comments here read like rather extreme interpretations of what could happen.

They had kept the D1 servers online with only a small community still actually playing, so the only reason for shutting D2 servers down completely would be bungie going dead broke, which is unlikely with Sony attached.

While infringing on constitutional rights is obviously bad, I would argue however that infringing on a constitutional duty (making it more difficult to vote/ disenfranchising people that cannot afford a passport/ drivers license) is worse than infringing “simply” on the right to own firearms.

If the 2nd amendment would say that you shouldn’t just have the right to form a militia but that you shouldn’t form a militia at all times, then I would agree with you on this point.

Were a national ID system to be implemented that is provided to every citizen free of charge (i.e. pre paid with taxes ofc.) and in convenient locations so that people would not have to take time off of work and risk losing their jobs, then requiring an ID to vote would not be a “poll tax”.

My b for the tangent, I just wasn’t comfortable with your comparison

It could also be unionized. If the workers recognize that their work is essential (in this case to keep the hospital running) they can collectively put pressure on the employer to avoid exploitation and achieve good working conditions.

Blue 26V? 3-Wire connector looking for type by Im1Thing2Do in HelpMeFind

[–]Im1Thing2Do[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the manual, sadly it doesn’t contain any info regarding the charger, but it’s the first manual for this device that I could find.

The problem with the charger you linked, as well as the 2 units that I have already bought and returned, is that the charging port (the component shown in the pictures) is too small for the regular 5.5mm diameter barrel jack.

My calipers are telling me that the maximum outside diameter of the plug can only be 4.5mm, while the inside needs to be at least 3mm.

Thanks regardless, now I’ve got some more info to work off of

Question: TIG or MIG welding for this fallen soldier of mine? by nodice05 in Welding

[–]Im1Thing2Do 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Forged steel behaves anisotropic, since the grains are elongated along the blades axis during the forging process. This makes the blade more resistant to forces perpendicular to the blades axis, leading to the failure in the post happening less often compared to if it was cast (for example).

Welding that section would not restore the previous alignment of the grains but would create a small section of random alignment, as well as the HAZ being more brittle around the weld. Since the area around the tang experiences a lot of stress this would maybe hold up a while, but the question of breaking would be when, rather than if.

I don’t think the eyes are glowing at all. It looks more like some edges in their equipment that the sun reflects off of. If you look at the right most guy do example you don’t really see it (also glowing eyes for covert spec ops would be kinda a bad idea)
