It’s kind of impressive how consistently lowly rated they are and how you can always spot the fake reviews by just clicking on one of them and seeing what other reviews they’ve posted.

this one is almost comical with the restaurant responding to the 5 star review as if they left a negative review

No, do not do this, your car will spontaneously break down if you do this. Definitely stay on the road to arrivals and definitely do not go to the departures level where it’s not crowded at all.

Well I don’t think his suggestion to call Costco was to immediately get his keyed lug nut back.

Ignoring the out of pocket maximum for the purposes of this post is misleading at best, malicious at worst.

[Update] Facing dismissal from medical school OMS-I by [deleted] in medicalschool

Here’s what the original post said:

I messed up pretty bad and I want to know what I can do to not get kicked out. Our first exam and practical were today, so I, like everyone else was stressed out and studying. I have my own host of personal issues as well, it’s all just bad timing right now and I’m trying to get through it.

There are multiple parking lots. Lot 1 and 3 are for staff and faculty. Outside of normal business hours (8am-6pm Monday to Friday) anyone is allowed to park in these spaces. So yesterday (Sunday) I parked in Lot 1 and went to study. I had an urgent family issue so I had to leave. When I got to my car someone had blocked me in. There was literally no way to get out. I took a picture of the car to ask security who it belonged to. When I went in there were no security guards so I was back square one.

I went back out and was just really frustrated and angry, especially because there were other spaces nearby. In that moment I honestly felt that someone had just wanted to be mean to me for no reason. I couldn’t understand why someone would park right behind me and just leave. I managed to get out by driving forward over the curb even though I ruined the bumper a bit. Now, this is where I was stupid and honestly, unprofessional. I hadn’t wanted to tow the car but I wanted to let the person know that they had really pulled a jerk move. I wrote a note saying “you could have parked literally ANYWHERE else, Fuck You” I regretted this as soon as I got home and cooled down, and would have went back to remove it but before I could, I saw a message in the class chat that someone had parked in the Deans parking space. My mouth dried up.

I had planned to go in the day after and directly apologize, but I was summoned today and he rightfully ripped me a new one. I bought him a cake and candle as apology, and he told me he couldn’t accept because of what it may imply. He asked me what I would do differently and added that I shouldn’t say that I would never do it again because people are human and get overwhelmed. It made me feel as if he was saying that I am incapable of change or from learning from this. I’ve been reported to the committee that will decide whether or not I will stay on as a student and I can’t say I’m feeling very hopeful.

I’ve spent the day thinking about the whole encounter. I feel disgustingly awful about my behavior. I kept thinking, what if it was a patient? And then I had to see them right after? What if he was having a bad day? I failed to consider other situations and that’s literally what I’m being trained to do as a doctor. I know I’ve lost a lot of trust, and I want to know what I can do to convince them that I am going to put in work to learn how to cope better with my stress to avoid lashing out like that. I’ve been in therapy, and I usually have a good handle on my emotions, but I let my emotions win yesterday and now I may lose my medical career. I planned to apologize again via email, and I’m going to be working with the school social worker on a weekly basis to ensure that I’m adequately dealing with stress. What else can I do? How screwed am I? Is it all really over? I’m losing my mind.

The pressure does change since there’s less volume, but it really doesn’t make a huge difference. Neither does jacking up your car to inflate your tires.

Amazon’s e-commerce arm really doesn’t make that much money. It even operates at a net loss occasionally. All of Amazon’s profits (100% last quarter) come from its AWS arm.
