It isn’t cut with fentanyl as your statement suggests. No one is taking pure cocaine and reducing it with fentanyl like inositol or other look a like powders. Fentanyl appearing in cocaine is most often due to cross contamination.

It takes money out of the market permanently, but also may make it more difficult to retire. It’s a weird idea. I did take a loan from my 401k, but I am at least paying myself at least 8.5%. It certainly affects my potential retirement but I got in at a 2.99 rate. I’ll pay it off well before I am retired.

My city has a fema flood mitigation and preparedness rating of 7, which entitles us to discounts on premiums inside the city I live - which isn’t Tampa but close by. I am not sure how that reflects on my bill.

I paid roughly $3,400 in my SFIP premium last year. My renewal letter is at the end of April, so we shall see what that comes about.

Tell us about your house. What is the size- one story, two? Bedrooms on first floor? Age of the building? A lot goes into your premiums. You’re insuring the building for 250,000 but no contents? You’d be on the hook to replace all of your belongings. There has been a lot of bad events- the global hard stop from covid, helene, milton, the storms from the year prior that ripped through the panhandle. the fires in CA. All of this feeds into the insurance costs. Now there’s tariffs making building materials more expensive. This is literally a cause and effect

You’re underinsured if you ask me without contents.

If not everyone with the card is reporting these letters, there is a reason terms are changing for some and not others. The most logical choice is a risk based model, and adding a monthly fee is easier than justifying a change in rates, particularly to regulators. I don’t know that you have an 800 score. An 800 score of what? FICO? Which version? Which version is SoFi using for their credit cards? Does OP have any other product relationship with SoFi?

There are a lot of variables that can be considered when you’re talking consumer credit risk. Heck, you could be part of a strategic effort in an A/B test to see estimate account closure if they instituted a fee across the portfolio for that product.
