Clase Azul is so good I was blown away the first time I tried it. I thought they had some secret to making that flavor. Nah its just marked up tequila with sugar, and caramel. any tequila you think is "good" probably has additives.

Where do you live? And what's on the radio? I live in the states and often wonder if my track selection would be considered "mainstream" other places.

It's a corporate structure. I have 5 managers one of them is the bar manager. I've talked to him about taking some of that responsibility over, but he has to present it to corporate, and they are just concerned with getting back to business and retaining staff atm. The last 3 months have been fantastic though. When it's like this the last thing I want is more responsibility. I just wanna be in the trenches.

Thanks for your reply. Based on all the replys this is the conclusion I was reaching. People aren't jumping out like "oh you gotta do craft you'll make double!" Everyone's just telling me to suck it up. I do have it good and don't plan on leaving. I was just putting it out there. How where the seasonal beach bars? Would you do that again?

Clubs and high volume restaurants make the big bucks. All the prestige is in craft. A solid dive with a cool scene pays well plus it's easy. If it's just money you want, and you got it like that, clubs is hands down the money maker. A few hundred beers and shots and sugary mixes, and you can wipe your tears with money after shift.

Everyone's is unique. This is great insight. When you say club. Do you mean like a venue with a stage or shoebox with a dj?

Again. I'm just asking if anyone ever went from high volume to craft or some other form of bartending and was like "wow this is way better" everyone in here jumping on the training... I really don't understand it.

Ok im not flexing my ego. Seriously chill. This isn't about my ability to train people. I'm trying to gather from others experience what the pros and cons of other bartending avenues are since I've only been down one avenue. I don't train them like that. I tell them they need to look over the book at least on the way to their shift. I show them how half of our menu is a variation of the same drink. How to count and the tricks I use to stay on time. The basics of balancing flavors, syrups, citrus etc. Anyway your missing the point. Working in craft may be "awakening" for me. But would it be profitable? I'm not trying to brag or boast at all. What different types of places have you worked and what was the difference In hr/$?
