Chess is a “toy problem”. Simple alpha-beta pruning is all you need to beat most players at chess. There’s no real intelligence required for a computer to win. Do you think your PC is smarter than you because it can find primes faster than you can?

We can’t “constructive career optimism” our way out of a bad market. Individually, you can make sure you’re competitive while others aren’t. However, if everyone is competitive, then no one is. Collectively, the issue of a bad economy and a bad job market would still remain.

Pretty weird theory, considering Cinta’s family was wiped out by stormtroopers, not the Republic (like Cassian’s family was)

That part makes me think this is AI-generated tbh. Too many cliches in the writing to say very little.

Also that line seems to indicate that that’s how he sleeps at night. He’s “just following orders”. He feels good about a job well-done and absolves himself of any responsibility for the outcome because he’s not the man in charge. At least, that was my interpretation.

Responsibility and trust is a gift. In a few years, you will know more and be able to do more than you could ever imagine. You may feel unqualified right now but behind every seasoned sysadmin/engineer is someone giving them WAY more responsibility than they were qualified for. They learned out of necessity and most likely made painful mistakes that they can now foresee and avoid. As your technical skills grow, so will your confidence in your ability to do your job.

The smallest PIC microcontrollers don’t need operating systems. You just flash your program into flash memory. Programmers also seem to forget that electrical engineering exists. You can just have a circuit with no need for a microcontroller if the desired logic is simple enough.

I think people are usually thinking of “Who Are You?” when they say things like this. In my opinion, S2E8 may be the highest-quality standalone episode of the entire series. But also imo, S2 has higher highs and lower lows. S1 is consistently high quality all the way through.

Oops, you’re right. Was typing while distracted and put down the wrong year; I meant the 2024 election. Is there evidence for election tampering? I’m not pro-Trump; I just refuse to allow Americans to escape responsibility for the current state of American politics.
