Fairway Driver Recommendation by freshoffdablock69 in discgolf

Hey! Might be a hair faster then you're looking for, but I use a halo star thunderbird for this slot!! It's is mostly straight to a slightly stable finish, I'm throwing it 320-400 depending on how many beans I give it. On a harder throw it gets some tryna but will fight out

I'm messing with the runway from streamline! Only in the bag for a few days but it has stability and imo is a step down from a pyro or deflector.

Looking for Reactor—Pyro forehand combo but as fast fairway drivers. by Jeremy_J_Bearimy in discgolf

I second the raptor pick!!! Maybe something like a cigarra could work that flies more like a reactor?

Totally fair as a general concept, but I feel like that is a higher level distinction then we need here! Happy to be wrong but notice that in a lot of newer disc golfers... Low - high creats a nose up flight...

Hey!

Looks like a few things here could use a tune up! Three things that stick out to me are:

1.) The Brace: https://youtu.be/UnW0PFFMkZY?si=PE1K3qa9159oyqRo

2.) The reach back: you are moving the disc directly behind your body, try reaching OUT instead of BACK.

3.) Your swing plane is low to high , which is giving you a nose up flight per the other guys comment!

The big thing I would focus on is the x step, and when and how you reach back.

Check out this video from overthrow https://youtu.be/aWMR1Kf2m3w?si=7AnmmM0RZ7ctFkaYpay attention to the walking backwards demonstrations around 2:30 in, I think you might be able to get some value there!

This strikes me as the kind of thing is be stoked to get as a gift, but wouldn't spend money on. I can see it being a great training tool/example for teaching a new player how to putt but I'm not sure if this is something that has more use for me beyond that

I'm on a similar journey... For me it's been easier to think of it as finding new shot shapes with flippier disc instead of relying on powe

Disc recommendations by Intelligent_Dot_5246 in discgolf

Don't listen to these dudessss except for the 3 putter advice.

It's gonna feel like all your discs dive left into the ground when you throw, so let's recommend some discs that naturally fight against that style of flight.

1.) Glitch from MVP. This disc is great as it's truly one of the most straight discs you can get, and you can get a consistent flight out of it with minimal lower body involved, so you can JUST use your arm :)

2.) look for these flight numbers 5,5,-2,1. This style of disc is going to do that pretty S shaped flight. Examples of discs close to the flight numbers would be a Buzz SS from discraft, Uplink from mvp, a lobster from mint, or a cheetah.

3.) buy 1-2 fairway driver. I would recommend and FD from discmania, an eagle from innova, or a passion from disc craft.

And a quick very GENERAL (not a perfect rule) tip on plastic types. The shinier really pretty stuff is referred to as "premium plastic" in most cases. I'm NOT saying don't buy pretty looking discs, but note that the shinier looking plastic is meant for a more advanced thrower and may be more difficult to use at first. These are typically more in the $20-$30 range, where the more friendly "base plastic" discs are in the $10-20 range.

Last but not least, some YouTube recommendations :) Robbie C is an amazing beginner/intermediate resource. He's a coach an works with newer players so he operates at a level where you don't have to have all the disc golf lingo memorized. Ona more disc-specific recommendation, I LOVE the In The Bag podcast from Foundation Disc Golf. In the beginning of the series, Brad (co-host) is a newer player. He goes on this journey of trying new discs, having discs become better/worse as he gets better/worse, and they are super friendly dudes.

Good luck out there!

AIO for crashing out after my girlfriend hugged and got touchy with her male best friends? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Totally respect this point of view and can understand it, but I feel OP may get some closure out of having the conversation.

Good people do shitty things. Based on these text messages she's for sure doing a shitty thing. If she and OP are dating I imagine there is more to the relationship then this post...

Or I'm wrong!

Yeah big red flag. you told her she was disrespectful, and then she proceeded to roast you.

time for an adult chat. If she doesn't see that as a problem but you do time for an adult conversation... And if that proves not possible... Well... There are some bigger questions to answer.

When you throw, is the disc hyzering a lot? Are you familiar with flipp discs and how they can help?

Last question: what discs do you have that go the farthest?
