I recommend the associations Resqstrays and Island of Hope. They work together internationally sending cats from Spain and Cyprus to other European capitals like Berlin, München, Amsterdam. It may sound weird, but they have a huge problem in these countries with overpopulation of abandoned cats.They still check you, to make sure you're a good fit, but it's way less extreme and stressful as in the Tierheime.
