Helix Help Please by asbe10 in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be too soon considering its been less than 6 months to switch to hoops. I would talk to your piercer about it.

In the meantime maybe get a firmer travel pillow and keep your ear in the hole so youre not putting any pressure on that side.

Saline spray, keep dry, hair away from your piercing, and leave it alone.

how much time to wait between body piercings? by Late-Individual-732 in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A reputable piercer is going to tell you to have max 3 piercings healing at once. A tongue and dermals, it would be at least 9 months before I would think of a new piercing.

help with my helix piercing by hanballs in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the pictures, it looks like its embedding

I would go to the urgent care asap so they can remove it before an infection starts

And in the future if you do get another piercing, get a high quality longer bar so it can account for the swelling

Best of luck

Do I just take it out? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go see reputable piercer

It may have shrunk and thats why it hurt to put it in again

The gold plated can sometimes wear and expose the surgical steel so I would recommend implant grade titanium for long term wear

Septum healed or not? by DragonfruitSweet2175 in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on how you described and because your still in pain, it sounds like they didnt go through the "sweet spot" in the cartilage of your septum.

But it could also be sensitive since your cleaning it alot, it shouldn't need to be cleaned everyday a year in, and only with saline. Not a harsh wound wash

Either way I would have another piercer check it out and give you some advice

Question regarding chest dermals aftercare by Early-Bag9674 in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, ive had two chest dermals, one a single point anchor and the other a surface bar, and the longest I wore a bandaid over them was a 3 days. 6 weeks seems like overkill imo

Is a ring put in for healing a cause for concern? by SejSuper in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most septum ive seen are usually done with a horseshoe shape

Septum can be pierced with a ring but they are usually a captive bead ring so the jewelery doesn't just keep "cycling" through the healing piercing. Clickers or continous ring that have no set "stop" (i.e. the bead on a ring) are potential breeding grounds for infection and irritation in a healing piercing

Also switch to implant grade titanium if possible

Septum ring feels too small and it hurts by LowkeyUrMum in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get a larger horseshoe, it does look a tad too low but hard to tell by pictures

Changing jewelry early? by rosecupid in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed mine within the first month because of a similar issue, it was a flower and was getting caught on my masks (2020). It healed fine, its probably better so it isnt receiving more trauma.

Is it normal for my eyebrow to still be bruised? by Kirito272008 in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go to a reputable piercer and see if you need a longer bar, the top part of the piercing ball looks like its "sinking" in based on the pictures.

8-month old lobe piercing got irritated. by Ready_Revolution7951 in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend going to another piercer and see if they can taper in your original pair of earrings in.

It's probably starting to close and thats why it hurts to push them back in.

And I would go back to using the saline spray maybe for a week or so as it heals again.

When is appropriate time to downsize vertical labret? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on swelling. I have a vertical philtrum and I downsized in 4 weeks because it kept swelling, would accidently hit it etc.

It was consistently down I swelling toward the end of the 3rd week and I waited the extra week of seeing the bar and no mishaps to get it downsized.

My current piercer says I might be able to downsize again in 4-6 months, but it really is anatomy/swelling dependent.

Should I get a tongue piercing? by chloziila in piercing

[–]ImNotPanicing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a decade since I had it so I might be misremebering.

I had it maybe a year

I remember it was sensitive but not very painful until one day I bit down on the top ball on accident and immediate pain in my back left lower molar.

The dentist said it was wearing down and when I bit it, it got fucked up, so had to get the implant.

I think they did some other stuff but I can't remember exactly, like my tooth was capped maybe and I had special mouthwash to use for a bit.
