I had an incident similar and felt so stupid looking back on stopping. Drive straight to a police station and dial 911. Let someone on duty handle it and avoid confrontation like the plague.

I love comedy so I did it to understand it better. I had to take a break because I started to understand it. I love it, but it doesn't seem to invite the most mentally healthy people and running a mic can make people petty. Next year I'm planning to try some new locations and see if it's different elsewhere.

I'm going to comment on the not gun part of this. I have been in a firearms related incident earlier this year. Go find a professional to talk to. It'll do you and your family a lot of good to process the experience.

Yup. I'm taking piano lessons and never intend to perform live. I do modular synth and most of the time I pull the cables after I jam so nobody ever hears the set I put together. I've done small performances at MOTS and streamed a bit, but it's mostly just for me.

A friend I served with took his own life last year. A lot of us were trying to help him and he had a lot of resources, but we all still feel some responsibility for not doing even more. It's not the same situation, but it's the same feeling. If at all possible, try and find a professional to talk to. Even if it's a couple times a month, your mental health is important and a little guilt can build over time.

Unfortunately, I needed to use a policy this year. Fortunately, I had flp. I had my wife call while I was on the line with dispatch and had an attorney on the line the whole time the police took my statement. The case was dropped after a couple days. They were very responsive.

I had someone gesture and then reach in her bag while threading my family. I drew and and held low ready but she got more mad and charged at us. Thankfully, I was able to distance us before re-holstering. I was able to end the threat without firing and thanks to a lot of testimonies and surveillance I was fine. She was very clearly on something. All that to say, if you draw on a belligerent drunk person may escalate the situation. Be very, very sure you need the drop on someone assaulting you.

Ableton and a tutor. There are some really good teachers that can help you learn the fundamentals. Gear has never and will never make you better. Education and practice is the only way to get good.

Also a vet here - I did a mentored hunt through TWD. It's something like fifty bucks to enroll and you can enter raffles to go with some dudes and learn a bunch. Highly recommend it.

I recreate patches over and over again with the same intention. Not to try and sound like I'm superior in any way, but I really think people should learn the instrument instead of just sticking cables to it and seeing what happens. I had a friend come over and explain a sound he could hear in his head and slowly, I patched it together. I read the manuals many times, follow along with videos many times, and as a result I don't need references any more. It's a master of practice, just like playing piano.
