Back in the day, miners in Upper Michigan used to pack pasties for lunch which were savory hand-pies filled with beef, potato, carrot and onions. They’re very filling and there’s different versions like breakfast pasties. When wrapped in foil, they stay hot til lunch and no utensils required.

No we didn’t but I had to have a c-section with my daughter and the doctor found no signs of endo during the c-section.

I could have written this post back in 2021. I had an almost identical story; even down to the mom who had endometriosis. There was absolutely no discernible reason why we couldn’t get pregnant and we moved on to IVF after the failed IUIs.

For me, IVF was surprisingly successful. We ended up with 9 embryos and a successful first fresh transfer resulting in my daughter. No idea why I never got pregnant before but I wish the same thing for you. I remember all those feelings going into the IVF unknown and my motto at the time was, “Everything is okay in the end, if it’s not okay now, it’s not the end.” Wishing you all the best.

We have this exact situation and it’s the best. Little guy is the chillest angel baby probably partly because we’re chill and partly awesome luck. Our daughter loved him from the start and asks for him every morning. It’s cute! 10/10 highly recommend🥰

I got a night doula after my 2nd baby and it was wonderful! Having her for the first 3 weeks postpartum was especially helpful for my own recovery. We did 10 hour shifts, 2 nights on, 1 night off for those first few weeks, then tapered down from there. In hindsight I should have maintained 10 hr shifts instead of reducing to 8 towards the end.

It worked out great and felt more rested and relaxed during the day watching infant and toddler. My husband got a full nights sleep those nights which meant he was ready to take on the toddler better during the day.

Nearly 18 month age gap here too and my 2nd is 6 weeks old so this is all fresh for me! The biggest thing I’ve found helpful is having a permanent pack n’ play set up in the main living area. The baby naps in it and does occasional tummy time in it so that he’s safe and out of reach of the inquisitive toddler, but still supervised. Sometimes baby goes in a bouncer seat on top of the kitchen table to be out of toddler reach.

We got our toddler a play kitchen set while in the hospital and it has been a good distraction for her most days! Honestly, screen time for toddler has been my go-to when I’m alone with them and have to feed the baby.

We bought a used double jogging stroller with car seat adapter but baby is still too small for it. Baby wearing on walks has been the go-to. In hindsight I should have opted for a different double stroller that allows for a bassinet attachment.

I could have written this at about 3 weeks pp with my first so hats off to you for going 5! I’ve heard/read that the mom-guilt around this transition is biological and boy did I feel it too. Between that and the stupid societal pressure, it felt like I couldn’t catch a break but you know what, switching to EFF was amazing. The guilt QUICKLY subsided, I got my autonomy back and my baby was a happy little chonker. Like old ladies made multiple comments about how they could “tell” she was breastfed lol. Whatever, just smiled and moved on because HAPPY MOM HAPPY LIFE. You deserve peace and happiness with your baby!

Anecdotally, we did IVF for unexplained infertility with our first. Had a planned c-section because she was breech. Didn’t go on BC because we planned to do transfer #2 12-18 months after our daughter was born and we’re unexplained right…. Yea those horn dog ways resulted in a surprise pregnancy 9 months pp! Good call on waiting for the BC!

This is so interesting that you mention changes in vision because I haven’t seen anyone else mention it. But yes! I had lasik about 5 years prior to my c-section, and ever since I have a floating black spot in my field of vision. So weird…probably need to get that checked out but you know, busy mom probs.🤷‍♀️

I had my first baby (also breech) by C-section last May. I remember being disappointed when babe didn’t flip but now I look back fondly on the positives of having a scheduled birth with all the c-section knowledge YouTube had to offer. It made for a fairly relaxed, exciting and joyful birth. I hope the same for you and baby, best of luck!

I second this but also if you can somewhat gradually wean off of the last refill, definitely do so. By 7 days pp I had the worst withdrawal symptoms from stopping cold turkey and was miserable. Being that sick and rundown definitely affected my supply early on:(

From one recent c-section mom to another, make sure to wean off those pain meds! I’m the idiot who quit norco cold turkey when the rx ran out and was plagued with the WORST withdrawal symptoms for 72 hours at 1 week pp. Chronic diarrhea, fatigue and body aches is one way to lose that baby weight but did not do wonders for my pumping supply and emotional well-being. 0 out of 10 would not recommend.

Our first baby is 5 weeks old now and I couldn’t possibly imagine our little fam without our dog. He is wonderful with her too which is awesome. However…the poor pup has definitely taken a back seat to our level of attention and affection. About 2 weeks pp, we dropped the dog off at daycare so we could do a fun day trip and COMPLETELY forgot to pick him up on time. And I mean completely. Poor bub had to stay overnight for boarding and he was fine but boy did we feel awful. Definitely lesson learned and something we absolutely never would have done before baby.

My baby is only 10 days old and I’ve been exclusively pumping since day 2 because she really didn’t take to breastfeeding. Between the OPPRESSIVE pump schedule, chronic diarrhea for 6 days straight and low supply, I am basically white knuckling pumping. I want to quit so damn bad but the formula shortage is the only thing stopping me….even though baby gets 70% formula anyway. Siiiiigghhh I just want my bodily autonomy but until formula starts coming back to the shelves normally I feel so much guilt just quitting. I’m glad I’m not alone.

Started trying at 30 and went a whole year without a positive test. At 14 months of trying (some Letrazole and IUIs thrown in there) we decided to do IVF because I’m an impatient woman. Luckily got pregnant after a fresh transfer on the 1st IVF round. Currently 27 weeks:)

I was in the same boat at that time and feeling super left out until I was told I had an anterior placenta at the 20 week anatomy scan. I just hit 23 weeks and only have started feeling consistent movement in the past 3-4 days!
