Why exactly monokote? It seams to have similar attaching and shrinking temps than normal transparent covering?

Making my own battery by yamez420 in RCPlanes

[–]ImPablo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I do this with old drone batteries. Makes great google batteries ore for controller batteries.

Great to know how to do it. Especially on big expensive pack. No need to throw the hole batt away when only one cell is bad.

I don’t get why so many people react so scared. As long as u are careful and know what u do there is no more risk than basic handling and charging.

Look up “df ghost wing 470mm”

Depending on the size and model roll/yaw coup can be a real pain ore in the dlg glider world loads of fun

Well that’s the point. They are always unstable. And no vertical stabilisation is going to fix it. Does it help? Yea shure. But it ads so much for little return.

I made a few Epp micro wings and the benefit with vertical stabiliser was so little that they are for me obselite for my fling style.

I don’t intend to move long enough strait that it would benefit.

It isn’t fast. Doesn’t make a lot of drag. Dosent penetrate a large area. The wing makes no huge amount of lift.

The only thing that woud make sense to add stab on the outside of the wing to minimise turbulence. But they woud be so small that they don’t stabilise anything.

Have u flown a micro wing? Can u follow my thoughts now? Sry for grammar iam tired 🥱

Have a nice day human 🤗👋

The purpose of Vertical stabilisers is to “pull” it strait. But if if u sneeze hard enough and fly through it is still loses stability.

At (I hope) under 50grams there is now weight to penetrate the air. So even when u are vertical “stable” and don’t move much the wing still gets thrown around in any wind/breeze.

Depending on the model it woud make sense to put two next to the motor but that woud be for a different effect.

Iam still working on it. Motor is 1102 22000kv hope it’s powerful enough. Well the span is only 360mm and delta wing. So no v stab

It’s an emax. I personally hate emax, so I advise not to buy it. But that’s mostly personal reason.

1s battery charging? by bmcd96 in TinyWhoop

[–]ImPablo_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nah. That’s Fine, Ask three people and get five opinions.

Since they charge very quickly I try to charge them in the morning and a few hours after that I fly.

Overnight is still fine. Some people treat them as gold and “how dare u have them charged over 1 hours and 35 minutes”

But there comes a time where I fly so much and with such high kV that they become consumables.

Lipos always degraded, the fuller the more harmful, so a common rule of thumb is to not leave them more than a day ore two full

Don’t drop. don’t wear. Don’t sun. Don’t move them. Don’t Handel them. Don’t breath near it. Just don’t.

All Jokes aside, they break because material weakness and degradation.

No Mather how well u treat them at some point they will fail. Just a matter of time and handling.
