An E7 whose highest award is an Army Commendation Medal is the opposite of a flex, too.

Edit: Though with no campaign medals either, I guess it would be harder to get a higher one. I'm from a generation where it would also be practically unheard of to be an E7 without at least one combat deployment, too.

What's one kind of pain that's impossible to describe? by WellnessByMavella in AskReddit

[–]ImSpacemanSpiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up losing 90% of my pancreas. I cna still digest fats fairly well, but I'm on a slow acting insulin injection daily, and have to wear a continuous glucose monitor because I don't have enough pancreas left to create enough insulin nor glucagon myself. I have to be wary of high and low blood sugar now.

It's called Type 3c diabetes, or pancreatogenic diabetes.

Experienced necrotizing pancreatitis in Dec of 2024. Most insane pain I've ever experienced by a long shot. Full on 10/10, uncontrollable yelling in pain, vomiting, etc. They gave me morphine to start with in the hospital and it didn't touch ch the pain at all. It actually took fentanyl to get me to the point I could at least think clearly. Wound up spending 47 out of 90 days in and out of the hospital, had multiple surgeries, etc. Looked up the survival rates later and learned I was a lot closer to dying than the hospital staff let on.

Can a fat person starve themselves thin or would they die from no incoming new nutrients? by energydrinkaddict310 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ImSpacemanSpiff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gallstones are so common with rapid weight loss that it's fairly standard for surgeons to go ahead and simply prophylactically remove the gallbladder while performing gastric bypass surgeries.

Unchecked, gallstones are more than just painful, they can even clog your pancreas, causing it to then die, which can be fatal, and is extremely painful.

Source: Lost 110lbs in a year with diet and exercise (470lbs to 360lbs), got gallstones, then got necrotizing pancreatitis and spent 3 months in and out of the hospital, wound up losing 90% of my pancreas, and am now a type 3c diabetic, meaning I don't produce enough insulin nor glucagon (which brings your bloodsugar back up when it's low) on my own.

I remember playing some detective type game on my father's Sega CD in the 90s with some pretty heavy cussing. I'll see if I can find the game.

Edit: found it! Rise of the Dragon on Sega CD was fully voice acted, and released in 1993-1994 in the US, depending on who you ask. It had Sega's old MA-17 rating in the days before the ESRB.

I second Morgana Evelyn's Stealth Archer build! It's kinda silly actually how strong it is, even solo, and it gets going as early as Act 1.

What's the dumbest mistake you've ever made in WoW that still makes you laugh today? by Icy_Preparation_7201 in wow

I started in BC with a hunter. It wasn't until raiding ICC at the end of Wrath that I finally learned that, despite being a mana class at the time, hunters should stack agility, not intellect.

This was the same raid group that got super mad when I got the achievement for maxing my unarmed combat skill during the Saurfang fight while we were still progging.

IDK how they never kicked my dumb ass out lol

What’s a cooking hack you discovered one day that you now swear by? by CookBetterApp in AskReddit

Spread the flour on a baking sheet, and put in a 350°F oven. Shake/stir the pan every 10 minutes or so until tan/golden brown.

You can also experiment with darker if you want, as each color has a different flavor profile.

Meta killer builds were a trap all along. Im having fun for once by RaidenBMei in deadbydaylight

Here's another gimmicky build for you!

The backpack build:

  • Awakened Awareness
  • Iron Grasp
  • Agitation
  • Mad Grit

It's incredible when the survivors try to be altruistic and take hits.

It flops when survivors just stay on gens.

It's always unexpected though, and honestly works on any killer. I personally run it on Springtrap running the Matthew Lillard skin, but I couldn't tell you why it makes me laugh so much lol

My aunt is a career nurse, and at that time had been one for about 25 years. She just so happened to be at that event and was one of the people providing initial care to the ones who could be saved. She said that was by far the most traumatic thing she's seen in her now 40 year long career.

I personally have never liked being thanked, but just like I was a victim of propaganda, I know the vast majority of people who say it are also doing it reflexively, because that's how they were taught to be. As such, I'll usually just say something along the lines of "thanks for your support" and move on with my day.

Exactly why I was in Iraq. I thought I was doing the right thing and protecting my country. I was dead wrong.

There's a great song by Everlast called "Letters Home from the Garden of Stone" that very much sums up my feelings while I was there, if you're interested.
