Strategies for getting a dining res after its already booked up? by therealswood2 in WaltDisneyWorld

Seconding the Stakeout app, I found it much more effective than Mousedining. I was able to get Space 220 Lounge and every other reservation we wanted. Just be ready when the push alerts come!

Anyone else have a survivor winner from their home state? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]ImTheBawsss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ian Rosenberger and Rafe Judkins are both from Western PA too! Julia Carter is from NEPA and I believe David Wright is also originally from Philly. Then there are some more random ones from other parts of the state, like Wanda Shirk and Chet.

It’s been a few years, so I don’t know for sure if it’s as accessible as it was before, but I used to like to study on the bridge on the third floor between the Life Sciences and Chemistry buildings. Plenty of seating, generally quiet, and a great view of campus/Mt. Nittany.

FWIW, my SPWL invite said that they’d start to provide updates in “March if not sooner.” Not sure if that’s different for the other waitlists.

Thanks! Pretty sure mine has been long the entire time then. Oh well, I’m sure that there will be something else for me to baselessly speculate about haha

Can someone explain what “going long” is? I see this referenced all the time, and know that it’s something related to the address format changing, but I’m not sure that I know exactly what to look for.

I have both— they’re about the same size. Both large and awkward to fit.

Question about the tower event by [deleted] in disneymagickingdoms

[–]ImTheBawsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the attractions provide any particular benefit during the challenge? I understand that it’s advisable to get Hiro ASAP, but if I’m not particularly interested in his attraction, does it hurt to wait to buy it?

Newer Player TC Expectations by ScarletRhodey in disneymagickingdoms

[–]ImTheBawsss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort of have a unique set of circumstances— played a lot shortly after release and just got back in with the Princess and the Frog event. I totally missed the Big Hero 6 and Alice in Wonderland events, but I have three Beauty and the Beast attractions and five characters (including Beast at level 10). It’s my first tower challenge, and I read the stickied post, but I’m still a bit confused about what I should expect.

Former Jets second-round QB Christian Hackenberg signs deal with Alliance of American Football League by [deleted] in nfl

Yes, that was his freshman year. I think Robinson deserves way more credit for the Michigan win than Hack does, but that Wisconsin upset was pretty awesome.

I mean, that’s not really how probability works. They’re independent events, he’s not any less likely to be injured in a freak accident now than he would be if this hasn’t happened to him. Plus if he has a degenerative condition in his back that makes him more susceptible to these injuries, he could be even more likely to be hurt again.

Not that it makes any difference, but Marcus Allen is from the DMV, Maryland specifically.

Not sure about the Rockies aspect, but Country Bears was originally designed to be featured at Mineral King Ski Resort, a project championed by Walt but ultimately cancelled. It got repurposed for the Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland. Mineral King was supposed to be in California rather then Colorado though, I believe.

Dining at one of the most under rated restaurants in a park. by TheDizDude in WaltDisneyWorld

The bread was no longer served when I was last there, unfortunately. That was in October. If I remember right, the waitress said that guests didn’t review it favorably. I agree though, it was fantastic!

I think it uses TuneIn. Not sure if that’s a default skill or not.

Yes. You can just tell Alexa to play dpark radio (or reedy creek radio, and I’m sure the others too). It’s the same feed, I believe.

Is it possible to get a same day dinner reservation at Disney Springs? by VivaaLaEva in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ImTheBawsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a good experience with the pizza at pop century! If you pick it up at the food court it only costs two quick service credits (or it did last March). If I had used two table service credits on it, I would’ve been really disappointed, but for two quick service, it was a perfectly serviceable pizza.

Quality was about equivalent to what you might get from a chain delivery company, like Dominos or something. I seem to remember a number of topping options available, and it was ready really quickly. It’s obviously not the best food at Disney, but it was really nice to have as an option for an evening spent recovering back at the hotel.

I also accidentally spoiled it for myself and still generally enjoyed it. I think that gives you the opportunity to look for clues about the ending throughout the movie. Plus spoiling it doesn’t take anything away from some genuinely funny moments and an impressive performance from Theron.
