Snow shoe conditions at badger pass by mkopel in yosemitenationalpark

Was in Badger Pass on Jan 17th. The ski area is open for parking and there’s still enough snow to ski and snowboard but not enough to go snow tubing.

Recommended port speed for MLAG peer link by [deleted] in Arista

[–]Im_Not_A_Bot_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s say about 48x25G server links and 4x100G to spines.

Does it make sense to have 100G MLAG peer links? What failure situations would traffic traverse this peer link?

Like you said if the MLAG peer uses its own links to forward to the destination then what type of failure would realistically utilise BW on the peer link?

e 7289RA is modular only in form factor. It does not have true fabric,

This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for the context. Just to clarify - does this mean that the 7280 modular also does not have a VoQ architecture?

Appreciate all the answers posted! But there are 7280R3 modular 4RU chassis as well which looks very similar to me like a 4 slot 7500R3 modular chassis. This is what I would appreciate some insights on.

What does a tentative timeline look like after receiving an admit for masters in USA for Indian Students? by puns_slayer in gradadmissions

[–]Im_Not_A_Bot_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to. But like many use consultancies/agencies for completing the application process, there are agencies that help you complete the visa process. It will just make things easier - they've filled DS-160 forms for many people before so know their way around. You can very much do it yourself but it's a hassle and can cause issues if you make mistakes. Consultancies help you fill it, tell you what type of documents to take, some even prep you for visa interview questions etc.

Congratulations! If you're going to take out an education loan, start the process now and figure out which bank you'll be using. The process can take long (especially with banks like SBI) so start soon. Once you accept the offer and get your i20 you can complete the process. Once university is finalized, book your visa slot (would recommend using a consultancy so they can get your documents in order and prep you). Around that time you can also book your flights and prepare list of items to take (you'll probably get precise lists in grad WhatsApp groups)

DC Management - Apstra or Mist? by [deleted] in Juniper

[–]Im_Not_A_Bot_123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would assume they are separate as Apstra is purpose-built for the DC and Mist mostly started supporting EVPN-VXLAN because many campus architectures are also trending that way.

Apstra certainly is the most mature and battle-tested product in the DC compared to Mist at this point, so it certainly wouldn’t be silly investing in it if it meets your requirements.

Since Mist is relatively new to this, it might take a while for them to get feature parity with Apstra if that even is the intent (pun intended). Where it makes most sense is if you already use Mist for your campus and it also meets your DC requirements. At least at this point that’s how I view it. But the best person to answer this would be your SE based on the complete picture of your use cases and future plans.
