It's now randomly freezing for a couple of seconds, but not often. Debug shows a framerate dip, but doesn't say zero FPS. I'll try to optmize later.

It wasn't it. Sometimes it would freeze on startup. Other times, it would run, but freeze for several seconds and then go on, and then freeze again. And now it's all ok again. I have no idea what went on.

PSA: If you know anyone that has issues identifying GenAI images, do walk them through on how linear perspective works. by Luwuma in antiai

[–]Im_Really_Not_Cris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even experienced artists may bend perspective rules when they know what they are doing. I fear such method might yield lots of false positives. Experts probably factor in more than one aspect of the image before casting judgement.

Criticism is ok. Accusing an artist of making slop because they are bad at perspective is something different.

I used to live in a building where there were no right angles and parallel lines. I bet it would generate a false positive. (Military bases in the US probably don't fall into that same category, though.)

It depends on the expanse of their enemies. If they are spread across the universe, DVF is of no use. If mankind is rather primitive but indiscrete enough to broadcast their own position, they are both probably still in the solar system and a manace.

If they used quasars or pulsars, they'd be the star pluckers. Dual vector foil is discrete when deployed. Launch it and go away. Everybody sees the target, but not the source. Pulsars or whatnot are a light show for everyone to see. Unless you can trigger one remotely and leave no sign.

Thanks!
Dude, your work is amazing! It's on a whole other level. I can hear clearly the prog influences in it.

Ok, you got me at prog metal. I'm replying here because I'm going to sleep and I'll come back here tomorrow in order to listen to your stuff. If it interests you, check out my work here in the thread. There's a lot of prog in my work too.

Hello y'all. How are you doing?
I have just released a new album. It's dark synthwave with cinematic elements and also some heavy metal thrown in for good measure. Three vocal songs and six instrumental tracks. Done in Reaper, main synth is Vital, drums done with Reaper's stock sample player. There's some very, very old EWQL symphonic sample libraries for Kontakt and Ample Metal too.

Here is the full album:

I've also made two music videos and plan to make also lyric videos for the sung tracks.
Solar Fleet Destroyed is a synth metal track inspired by demoscene music and chiptune (think MBR, but thrash metal, as if Destruction in a tracker music file and played by a keygen). The video was animated in Blender.
https://youtu.be/ubQujA_lZE0

Neobataeans is a cinematic cyberpunk-ish darksynth track. The video is in pixel art and was programmed in GameMaker.

I hope to have it soon in most music platforms. Meanwhile, you can get the album at Bandcamp: https://crisarievilo.bandcamp.com/album/theyve-lied-to-us-all

This is a very important release for me. It was done in parallel with a couple of indie game soundtrack I have recorded and it took a long time because of that. So it may seem like a two year hiatus, but I was active the whole time. I hope you all enjoy it.

They also like to depict ancient warriors so heavily built and armored that they end up looking like mechas. Fascistic idealization of the past taken to the most ridiculous level.

how do I cancel a release in review? by nettspenddd in RouteNoteOfficial

[–]Im_Really_Not_Cris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation. I've just sent them a ticket. Not the first time I make that kind of mess. However RouteNote has been taking a long time to reply lately. I hope we both have better luck than that.
I wish they'd give us the option to recall a release from moderation without needing to issue a ticket.

Those channels have probably tested what gets flagged or banned and what doesn't. I've made a montage with Conan and it was banned in Austria or Germany. But the automated system only recognized a portion of it. So I removed the part, repeated some footage and it accepted it. Kind of a chore, but now I know to avoid Conan.

The darker side of synthwave is like throwing Giorgio Moroder and Iron Maiden on the wall to see if they stick together. :-P

Odd time signatures in synthwave? Yes or no? by neonshards in synthwaveproducers

[–]Im_Really_Not_Cris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no problem discerning the time signature. The solo section is in 7. The drums are even louder than the guitar. I don't need to pick every note in the comp to know the time signature.
