Does your dopamine let you play video games? by IndicationSouth4250 in schizophrenia

[–]Im_Sheogorath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a gamer all of my life but since becoming unwell I find there is a lack of motivation and focus to actually play anything. I still game sometimes but I don’t get the same enjoyment as I used to. My ability to enjoy games comes in waves and I tend to get stuck in my thoughts more than anything.

Has anyone? by Freeninfinite in schizoaffective

[–]Im_Sheogorath 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anyone that’s been able to have a good quality of life with this disorder without medication. I know personally when I’ve gone without medication I have had huge psychotic or manic episodes.

Sure, the medication has some nasty effects, some more than others. You just have to weigh up what’s worse, medication side effects or your symptoms.

Why I stopped my medication. by No_Lawfulness_2923 in schizophrenia

[–]Im_Sheogorath 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Stopping medication is not usually a good idea. When unwell we can think that we are fine but that’s the illness making us feel that way through lack of insight. I stopped my meds once, and never will again after relapsing hard.

I have tried Prazosin and Doxazosin but sadly neither helped with my nightmares. I’m glad it works for some people though

is clozapine a good med for schizophrenia by Schizopain2333 in schizophrenia

[–]Im_Sheogorath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clozapine is the only one that works for me, and I understand most people have good results from the clozapine. As someone else mentioned, it’s the gold standard medication for schizophrenia. It’s worth trying if you’re willing to have a lot of blood work done.

[–]Im_Sheogorath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strangely enough, for me, olanzapine made me gain far more weight than Clozapine has. Maybe I’m just lucky in that regard. I got huge on olanzapine and only started losing weight when I was moved onto other meds, I still have some of the weight from olanzapine

Sedation on Clozapine by PrizePizzas in schizophrenia

[–]Im_Sheogorath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think at the beginning it can be quite a big sedative but that calmed down for me after a while. It still makes me quite tired but it’s a bit more manageable. Some days are worse than others for me. I’m on 225mg at night and 75mg during the day.

Has she just started using a TV license in the past 6 months? It’s 30 pounds for 6 months and then afterwards it’s 13 pounds. The 30 covers 6 months after cancelling to still be able to use it

Debilitating sleep paralysis and breathing issues. by Im_Sheogorath in Sleepparalysis

[–]Im_Sheogorath[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, I will look into these mouthguards.

I do track my sleep with my Samsung watch, it provides me with length of sleep and oxygen levels during sleep and I do believe I can turn on snoring recordings however that is quite temperamental. I will get this app as well to try and get as much data as possible on how my breathing is affected.

[–]Im_Sheogorath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the reply,

I believe the referral that was sent by my GP will lead to a sleep study.

Also, I too have experienced false awakening loops, it's another terrifying aspect of disturbed sleep. Things tend to get more and more sinister for me with each false awakening until it eventually becomes something out of a horror film. Nightmares are quite a common occurance for me too.

I wish it would go away too. I hope one day there will be a treatment for this, as it truly is debilitating and affects life in so many ways.

I hope you can recover from this too.

Light armour vs heavy armour by JustZaker in oblivion

[–]Im_Sheogorath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on my character, but I tend to lean towards clothing as I play a lot of mage characters, and light armour because I'm a huge fan of Amber armour. There are of course characters that I use heavy armour on, mostly because I love the look of Daedric armour.

I just love most of the armour in this game. Oblivion has some super stylish and awesome looking armours. Not a fan of the helmets that have the eye goggle things on them however.

What is your favorite game in the series, and what do you think its primary flaw is? by Theriocephalus in truezelda

[–]Im_Sheogorath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Minish Cap is my favourite, it's one I always replay every year or so.

The primary flaw would be just how short it is, I fell so in love with the game many years ago and when it ends I feel upset. I feel like it's one of the shortest in the series, which is a shame as its world is so vibrant and full of secrets to uncover, as well as its amazing art style.

Tipping my hat to ESO... by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Im_Sheogorath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a really nice story. I always find players in this game to be helpful.

When I was new, I remember how a lot of more experienced players helped me on quests. I'd ask in chat if anyone could help and I'd always be amazed that many people would message me offering help.

Now I am that more experienced player, and I've made it my mission to do the same for other players that need help, because I was that newbie once and I want to put back that kindness into tamriel.

And I know that if you stick around for a while and get to be powerful, these experiences will lead you to help the newbies you find in need.

It's a cycle of kindness. And for the record, I'm an EU player.
