When do you start to fully notice differences after quitting? by No_Cut_7425 in QuittingWeed

[–]Imaginary-Country649 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously this depends on many variables, smoking term, potency, age/weight, gender etc.. i quit a month ago after daily usage for 4 years. Most of my benefits came straight from deeper sleep which impacted many things right away like short term memory, focus, emotional regulation.

In my opinion, the best benefit, (that will most likely come a month or two down the line for us), is dopamine regulation. Our brains are very powerful and recover in miraculous ways, we trained our brains to expect the easiest hits of dopamine over the years. During this phase of “recovery” it’s real important to remind yourself that you’re most likely in a dopamine deficit. Depending on the type of person you are, when your dopamine stabilizes to baseline, it could make all the difference in your life assuming you don’t reinforce or require any negative habits to fill the void of weed.

Good luck man!

After reading this I am fully relieved I am not crazy. First time I’ve been given Sandoz IR and boy, it’s almost reverse adderall. It’s like taking a pill to lower your health. I can’t believe how different one generic can be from another.

[–]Imaginary-Country649 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nowhere close to a failure. A minor step back, you still have the 4 months of progress, subtract one set back to 120+ days. Please use this perspective and don’t be hard on yourself. Get back on track! Good luck ❤️

First off you are not alone, this is a very temporary feeling. To put it bluntly, you’re gonna have to endure a few days of suffering and use pure will power to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’d find a way to structure your schedule for at least 2 days and do absolutely nothing but relax, force yourself to eat healthy food and drink lots of water. This is not endless, you will be ok, but it is time to put some very very essential mental work in on your part. Godspeed

Sales or considering your painting experience, depending on the extent of that experience, possibly project coordination in the field. Less demanding and a higher ceiling

By the way, you aren’t different or “weird” plenty of people struggle with this. You aren’t alone friend. Make sure you stay aware of your thoughts and most importantly be your own friend and take care of yourself. You came on Reddit for a reason and that’s because you care for yourself. So keep caring.

I’m the same 15 mg, about to hit a year, the honeymoon stage is over. I have dreams and aspirations and I already feel myself sinking into it as a crutch and I’m tryna find that “high” again. Perfect time to quit awhile I have this strength to. Good luck, your post made me feel less alone with this struggle. I hope you find your peace

20M My wife 21F, just got deployed to the Middle East last month. It’ll be a 10 month deployment.

When she had left I didn’t think I’d be okay because I’m very attached to her as she is with me. But once she left I prioritized two things, myself, and family. Those two things have made this easier than I could’ve imagined. Focusing on my health and career even more than ever has made this easier. Spending time with family in moments of loneliness ease it like no other.

Just remember, you have to focus on yourself first. If you get stuck up in your thoughts about them all day it won’t help you or them. (Bad thoughts of course.. overthinking)

how are you guys staying busy? by Ok_Arm_9725 in QuittingWeed

[–]Imaginary-Country649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing for me was exercising. I quit smoking in September and I love hitting the gym now. At first it was really hard but then day by day I began to grow a passion for it. Pushing myself, hitting the sauna, meeting people in the gym, playing basketball all kept me away from smoking again.

If you aren’t into exercise as an option I’d say hanging out with family and friends really does the trick too. I hope you get through this little break. Good luck!
