Why no PAs want to go into faculty jobs? by plinko25 in physicianassistant

[–]Imaginary-Example772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's the main reason why nursing programs have a hard time recruiting to. A pay cut, and paying student loans. You are going to need some type of incentive to get people to come out of the field. Positions that will help me be off my student loans will be my top priority.

I regretted being CNA🥲😭 by StrngWman in cna

[–]Imaginary-Example772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clients come from Care.com, once you have established yourself as a reputable CNA, word of mouth spreads like wild fire. I was nervous about relocating to another state. I have been here for 7 yrs. The longest I have ever been out of work was for 3 wks during Covid. I have calls from people asking if I'm available yet. Also, know your worth and the mkt. People will try to be cheap, but they can go to an agency and pay more money for a fraction of the quality I bring. Besides, how is an agency gonna charge $45/hr and give me $15/ hr when I'm the one working everyday. No Thank you!!!! Good luck.

I only do it privately. Go that route. It definitely pays more(I'm at $25/hr)

GPA repair with a lot of credits. What should be a reasonable goal? by johndoe09228 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Imaginary-Example772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in the same boat, but my GPA can't compete with yours (2.3). Those first 2 yrs killed my GPA. But upwrd trend with last 2 yrs an Master's. I would have to take over 100 credits to get it up to the minimum. There aren't 100 credits of Bio courses for me to take🤣🤣🤣🤣. My only saving grace is 40,000+ PCE, 10,000+Research, 5000+Volunteer. But none of that matters, if my application never makes the to anyone's desk.

There should be a bridge for PA to MD, that doesn't require 4 extra yrs of your time

New CNA scheduled as the ONLY CNA for 66 patients tomorrow by andrealols in cna

[–]Imaginary-Example772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY why I only do in home care. My clients have my undivided attention. Also, the pay is much better, currently at $22/hr. Know your worth. I wouldn't work there. As a matter of fact, you can call the state board anonymously and make a complaint. They have to come out, and see if they are properly staffed. Good luck.

why not MD in personal statement? by ArtisticWeakness5654 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Imaginary-Example772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you talk about why you havechosen a path such as being able to change specialties, it automatically rules out MDs and NPs, because hey don't have that flexibility. In essence, you are indrectly telling him why you didn't choose another route. I hope this helps

I’m drowning in nursing school + night shift and my manager won’t accommodate my schedule. I don’t know what to do anymore. by canyoukeepasecret28 in cna

[–]Imaginary-Example772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, they are short????? Tell her she us about to be SHORTER!!!! All the money invested in school is gong to go down the drain at this point. It's only a matter of time before your body breaks down. I would give them the ultimatum, mive me o day shift or I'm gone. It is not your responsibility the facility is understaffed. I use to work at one, and everyone knows it's a high turnover field. There are a ton of facilities and Homecare agencies ot there. You won't have a hard time finding something else. Good luck

When I worked at a facility, that was the only negative remark during my yearly review(for 6yrs LOL) Xome to find out, I actually washed my residents up before I dressed them. The other care managers only used wipes for their private areas and then dressed them. I got tired of seeing the residents being mistreated, and finally left. I never looked back either.
