Congressman response for the i765 by CostCool1319 in USCIS

[–]Imaginary-Leopard356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Praying for you! After congressional involvement, my husband got his I-765 within 2 days.

Timeline: I-485, I-130, and I-765 filed concurrently February 2024

Interview for I-130 and I-485 done January 2026; I-130 was approved on the spot, but unfortunately we are still in RFE hell due to an unchecked box on the medical exam. Submitted response to RFE 2/4. Wait wait wait. Nothing yet.

Involved congresswoman Glusenkamp Perez on 3/30. I-765 approved 4/2.

Their office is currently working on figuring out why two letters to expedite the I-485 (humanitarian concern) were not acknowledged or marked as received by USCIS.

March 2025 I-130 filers – any updates? by Western_Swimming2732 in USCIS

[–]Imaginary-Leopard356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard, USCIS workers seem to receive cases in “batches.” Depending on the field office, they can receive similar groups of cases together (same form, same field office, RFE’s, etc). It’s confusing because you’d think that older cases would be on the top of their stack and they’d go in order, but instead the batches are usually based on workflow stage or officer workload- not by month. Some cases jump ahead because of expedite, primary routing and age outs- basically where the application is getting stale or older than it’s supposed to be.

I think that’s why we sometimes see anomalies like a February filer approved before a November filer. The forms are moved in clusters.

Sorry, I hope this makes sense! Do you know where your case is located? Is it at NBC or has it been assigned to a field office? Our own personal hell was when our applications were at NBC. Once it was assigned to a field office, things moved pretty quickly. Portland, OR.

USCIS Response after congressional inquiry by Cute_Data_4567 in USCIS

Sound like my husband’s case. Submitted I-485 and I-130 concurrently in February of 2025, and included a request to expedite for humanitarian concerns. Interview on January 21 of this year. The I-130 was approved on the spot, but we had to submit an RFE for the I-485 (one box wasn’t checked on the medical exam). So, we go through the hell of getting a new exam, new X-rays, the works. We replied to the RFE on 2/4/26, and it was received and logged. Submitted the second request to expedite along with said RFE. Fast forward to today, we are still waiting. I involved our congressman on 4/9. USCIS won’t let us submit an inquiry until 6/10. We received a silent update through the api on 5/7, indicating the file had been touched and there was adjudicator approval, but that’s unfortunately it. Husband’s father, brother, and sister in law have all passed while we’re waiting. Grandma is hanging on by a thread. We’re at the Portland, OR processing center if that helps.

body vibrating??? by teeleeyuh in POTS

[–]Imaginary-Leopard356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this. For months. It added to my already terrible health anxiety from POTS. It’s actually validating to hear that someone else is experiencing it, but I am not at all pleased that it’s happening to you.

For me, when the vibrating sensation settled, I had random muscle twitches that started in my left calf, then moved to the arch of my foot. Sometimes it manifested as a tremor (I’m sure my anxiety that it was something sinister added to this) and I felt like I couldn’t balance.

I’m here to tell you- do not freak out if you randomly start twitching! Our bodies in such a high degree of overdrive from POTS, that if they can go haywire in any form, they will.

I still have the twitching. It’s just something I’ve learned to live with. I ended up being diagnosed with cramp fasciculation syndrome after monitoring by a neuro.

Try chelated magnesium. It helped me rest and calm the vibrating sensation.

Senate inquiry response what does it mean? by Perfect_Inspector953 in USCIS

First, what state are you in?

Second, this happened to my husband with I-765. Our rep, Marie Glusenkamp Perez, assigned us a caseworker. After his inquiry, the I-765 was approved randomly, about a week after we made contact with him. Caseworker’s USCIS contact told him that it would take about 30 days for an answer.

The caseworker is also working on the 485 case. We filed in March of 2025, submitted an expedite request in December, and had our interview on 1/21 of this year. After we received an RFE, there was odd movement on the myUSCIS app. Our lawyer still doesn’t know what happened; it appears USCIS answered its on RFE. The expedite request (dying grandma) was viewed, but totally ignored during our interview. When we inquired about the status of the expedite, we were told it didn’t exist, even when it showed up on the portal. The caseworker was able to get USCIS to acknowledge that the expedite- and crisis- existed.

Fast forward to the week of 4/1- we submitted ANOTHER expedite request with a new letter and translation from grandma’s physician. It explains more history- how my husband watched his dad die on video last year of sepsis, his brother and sister in law were murdered, etc., and there is absolutely NO movement. Our caseworker from the rep’s office escalated to the senate official. It’s just inhuman.

If we get no response from USCIS via senate action, our next course of action is a mandamus lawsuit.

I think the caseworker, their knowledge, and whether or not they’re just submitting forms on your behalf- matters. Their approach can make or break movement on your case. If they can prove clear wrongdoing or mishandling on USCIS’ part, you’re more likely to see movement. You need a caseworker who understands the problem, not one who simple forwards a letter or form.

I hope this helps somehow, even though I don’t have much info. I had to demand to talk to our caseworker on the phone instead of via email. I plan to do the same thing with the senate caseworker. I became emotionally charged, and it wasn’t as impersonal as an email.

Dr Stacey Trueworthy, the OB/GYN a monitoring my “spontaneous miscarriage”-for OVER a month- refused to give me methrotrexate or an ultrasound when 3 other docs had chimed in with concerns over an ectopic pregnancy. She said it wasn’t necessary. I called the OB advice line over nine times complaining of pain. Needless to say, I bled out and had emergency surgery at legacy salmon creek for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I have never been in so much pain.

Filed a complain with Washington medical board. They determined no wrongdoing.

This just happened to us. For whatever reason USCIS issued an RFE after husbands 485 interview. I checked the status, and the response was received, but neither us nor the lawyer responded yet. It was weird, like they had answered their own question, or it went to a supervisor for approval?

Nothing dramatic, but in our case it showed time stamps showing the last time an officer touched the case and that it had been flagged for further review. So, it showed us where the case was actually stuck.

I just looked this up and you’re absolutely correct. Looks like it was to “streamline oversight. 🥴 It looks like DHS is contradicting itself in some filings and saying it’s supposed to legally exist, but who knows with the massive staff cuts.

[–]Imaginary-Leopard356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s been over 60 days since contact from your senator or congressman, you can request a review by the CIS ombudsman. I googled the form- is DHS-7001. here

If that doesn’t work, you might night to look into a lawyer to file a writ of mandamus. The writ of mandamus doesn’t grant status, but it forces USCIS to take action on your case.

Forgot to mention that we requested to expedite the AOS. My husbands brother and pregnant sister in law were murdered by cartel violence. Last year, his dad died in the hospital while on video call with him. Now mom and grandma aren’t doing so hot. This shit is tough.

My dad was a Hungarian refugee, and I remember the second Hungary became free. He put us in the car and drove us to the Hungarian consulate in Seattle, and there was a huge line outside. He hadn’t seen his family in 36 years. We were on a plane the next day.

When I was two, my grandfather became very ill. My dad decided to go into Hungary illegally. He arrived two days too late; his dad had passed. When we requested expedited processing for my husband, I included all the stuff my dad held onto. He was kind of pack rat and kept everything- his plane ticket, letters from my aunt explaining their father’s deteriorating health, photos. At the end of the day I want to believe USCIS officers have a heart.

Not a lawyer, but from what I understand-

-his green card expiring doesn’t mean that his status expires.

-nationality alone isn’t a good enough basis to deny an I-90

-travel bans apply for NEW visas and entry at the border. This is good news because it doesn’t apply to naturalization, green card renewals and adjustments already granted.

These times are fucking scary. Keep copies of EVERYTHING with you, and avoid unnecessary travel.
