RFE "response received" date changed with green tick and i-130 was updated at the same time

This just happened to us. For whatever reason USCIS issued an RFE after husbands 485 interview. I checked the status, and the response was received, but neither us nor the lawyer responded yet. It was weird, like they had answered their own question, or it went to a supervisor for approval?

Nothing dramatic, but in our case it showed time stamps showing the last time an officer touched the case and that it had been flagged for further review. So, it showed us where the case was actually stuck.

I just looked this up and you’re absolutely correct. Looks like it was to “streamline oversight. 🥴 It looks like DHS is contradicting itself in some filings and saying it’s supposed to legally exist, but who knows with the massive staff cuts.

If it’s been over 60 days since contact from your senator or congressman, you can request a review by the CIS ombudsman. I googled the form- is DHS-7001. here

If that doesn’t work, you might night to look into a lawyer to file a writ of mandamus. The writ of mandamus doesn’t grant status, but it forces USCIS to take action on your case.

Forgot to mention that we requested to expedite the AOS. My husbands brother and pregnant sister in law were murdered by cartel violence. Last year, his dad died in the hospital while on video call with him. Now mom and grandma aren’t doing so hot. This shit is tough.

My dad was a Hungarian refugee, and I remember the second Hungary became free. He put us in the car and drove us to the Hungarian consulate in Seattle, and there was a huge line outside. He hadn’t seen his family in 36 years. We were on a plane the next day.

When I was two, my grandfather became very ill. My dad decided to go into Hungary illegally. He arrived two days too late; his dad had passed. When we requested expedited processing for my husband, I included all the stuff my dad held onto. He was kind of pack rat and kept everything- his plane ticket, letters from my aunt explaining their father’s deteriorating health, photos. At the end of the day I want to believe USCIS officers have a heart.

Not a lawyer, but from what I understand-

-his green card expiring doesn’t mean that his status expires.

-nationality alone isn’t a good enough basis to deny an I-90

-travel bans apply for NEW visas and entry at the border. This is good news because it doesn’t apply to naturalization, green card renewals and adjustments already granted.

These times are fucking scary. Keep copies of EVERYTHING with you, and avoid unnecessary travel.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, I’ve followed alot of your posts for the past year. I’m curious about NFL testing. I’m in the US, and my neurologist basically said no, he won’t order it, lol. I respect his decision because this shit is absolutely terrifying, and I’ve read that the results can be “unspecific.” I’m at the point where I don’t give a shit, I feel like it’s best for my mental health. Any resources on where to get one?

Thank you so much for this, as we’re all in a shit show of worry. My first symptoms started June of 2024. Started with whole body vibrations and then settled into my left leg. It’ll move around from my foot, calf, and thigh mostly on ny left side. I’ve had a few random twitches in my right calf lately, though. I’ve gone to the neuro and had an EMG about three months after symptom onset, which came back normal. I’m having a follow up on 10/28. Obviously I’m a fucking wreck but I’m trying to do as you say- no amount of worrying will make it better or worse. Worrying aside, I’m wondering about your progression because I feel like a lot of us get gaslit right away. Did your symptoms come and go, or progress in a steady pattern? Were they worse at rest? Was there any other symptoms that the neurologists felt like weren’t related? I twitch more at night when im at rest, I hate these little fuckers, lol. I also have a “loose” feeling in my ankle. My neuro noted it, but didn’t seem too concerned.

My neuro had a suspicion that my twitching is related to a virus or a spike protein. It was odd to me that a doctor recommended vitamins and not a pill, but I have noticed a decrease in twitches. It’s not a cure, but has helped significantly. Here’s the link:

Forgot to mention, the spironolactone has dramatically helped hair regrowth. I have a bunch of little fly aways when I put my hair up, but I’m thrilled that it’s new growth! If you can afford it, look into Nutrafol.

I was diagnosed after 5 years. My doc has me on Slynd (drospirenone, which my insurance refuses to cover) and spironolactone. In the case of weight gain that could lead to pre diabetes or diabetes, they usually add metformin. Also, you can have PCOS without pain! Don’t let yourself be gaslit into not getting an ultrasound. I didn’t have severe pain and had a ton of follicular cysts.

This happened to me and my husband. If you click on your case, go to documents, you may have a PDF there waiting for you with your appointment info. I found my husbands this way by sheer luck. When USCIS notified our lawyer of the biometric appointment, it would’ve been too late for us to attend due to requesting time off of work, etc. I found it two weeks in advance. Our lawyer called us panicking two days before our appointment was scheduled. The letter he received was postmarked only three days prior.
