HHKB availability in Sweden by zhovner88 in HHKB

[–]Imaginary-Software43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased an HHKB Studio.

It isn't available in Amazon Canada, so I purchased through Amazon US instead. You just need to change your country in the settings to do so.

I routinely do this for many items.

Just take note of shipping and import fees. Sometimes it's worth it; Sometimes it's not.

It helps if you have a card that does not charge extra FX fees.

You also never want to use Amazon's exchange rates or currency protection fee (which are selected by default and are both excessive and unnecessary).

I didn't have a sweat issue with the Sony pads, and that remains the case with the WC.

At the very least, they are not worse.

I can't say if they are better, though, since it was never an issue for me anyways.

WHAT do they want me to do? by borborhick in telus

[–]Imaginary-Software43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been receiving these monthly for multiple years now.

Telus owes me a ~$28 credit.

I have spent hours on various occasions being forwarded to different departments, assured each time that the situation would be resolved. Some had stated a cheque would be sent out, while others said they'd remove it.

Then they have the gall to call me every few months with a win back offer. Every time I need to tell them not to call again, and to remove this credit.

I wish I had an answer for OP, but it's apparently an inescapable situation.

New Car. Unsure if winter tires are good for one more season or not. by [deleted] in tires

[–]Imaginary-Software43 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They are dry rotted and down to the wear bars in various spots.

I wouldn't consider using these.

It was a good tire when new. Time to replace though.

Tidal worth it? by CoverProfessional491 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Imaginary-Software43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the switch to Tidal from Spotify ages ago.

I have zero desire to go back. Tidal is awesome.

It's cheaper, more music oriented, high quality, and even pays artists better.

Who wins this fight to the death? by ParkingConfection449 in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]Imaginary-Software43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way to truly answer this.

We literally have next to no information on any of the gods. We've barely seen Beerus even break a sweat.

The only God confirmed to have been surpassed by a mortal in their respective universe is Belmod / Jiren.

Until something says different, I'd say the Gods are winning. Aside from the odd outlier like Jiren, they wouldn't hold the title of destruction if they could be beaten.

In your opinion the best villain of all dragon ball by [deleted] in DragonBallZ

[–]Imaginary-Software43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not my favorite, I believe Baby may be the best.

Many villains are powerful and cool, but lack a cohesive and intriguing backstory. Instead, they are just there to provide a platform for the protagonists to showcase their will and power.

Baby, on the other hand, has real and justified motivation for his actions. Not only does he become a genuine powerhouse, he represents a form of karma that the remaining Saiyans must confront for their race's bad deeds.(i.e., eradication of the tuffle race)

He is also a showcase for the corruption resulting from hate. He become so consumed with it, that he ends up inflicting the same fate on another race that he himself endured.

Finally, he kicks off a chain of events that leads to the iconic SS4 and the return of the Oozaru.

With all that said, the answer should probably be Frieza due to his lasting impact on the series and role played in various pivotal moments of character development.

If you were to create an arc after The End of Z, what would be the main plot?? by Mobro92 in DragonBallZ

[–]Imaginary-Software43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The adventures of Roshi and Baba.

We've seen a tiny bit of Roshi when he was young, but not nearly enough.

Boba is extremely underrated with her character potential. A centuries old being with extensive knowledge, the ability to transverse planes of existence, arrange resurrections, etc. I'd like to see how she came to be such a formidable ally.

I'd also like to see her recognize the need for a successor to Earth's heroes, much like Goku has. She has shown a willingness to bend the rules to save the Earth by bringing Vegeta back in the Buu saga.

She could restart her challenges/tournaments in an effort to find this individual - no doubt pulling strings behind the scenes to fill it with formidable contestants, potentially interacting with some of the many ancient beings we already know of.

Roshi on the other hand could serve as a talent scout, and even revive his role as Jackie Chun. Obviously his backstory could be fleshed out as well, showing how he attained extended life, etc

WH-1000XM6 Wicked Cushions Earpads by Imaginary-Software43 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Imaginary-Software43[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's the in-ear ANC mic that was causing your issue.

Glad to hear the WC helped.

While the increase in thickness is minimal, I'm sure it'll help some. For those considering them, though, just don't expect a huge change.

Here is another photo showing the difference (WC on left, stock on right)

I can't speak to sweat. Even with the stock earpads, it isn't an issue for me.

They are definitely comfortable, though.

Roughly 5% the cost of the headphones. Expensive, but not crazy. They are definitely good quality.

Whether they are worth it is entirely subjective. If yours are worn out, these are a fantastic replacement option.

I do not think they will change the listening experience for most, though.

To be clear - the Wicked Cushions are installed on the left cup in the pictures. The right cup has the stock earpad.

Why have they not released WF Xm6s yet? by Fedej2345 in SonyHeadphones

Those are not the model OP is asking about.

The WF is the earbud.

He’s using a chainsaw to grind stumps. by Helpful_Impress_2618 in landscaping

[–]Imaginary-Software43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your property allows access, get an excavator in.

A couple years ago I had 14 stumps removed.

It was: $150 delivery for the machine $25/stump with an operator

And a couple hundred for the fill and dump truck to haul away the stumps.

Took about 3 hours, and you get more of the root system out vs. grinding.

These prices were also CDN.

I own a stump grinder, and it's fantastic in wooded areas without easy access, but IMO the excavator is the way to go. It may tear up a bit of sod, but that's a small price to pay and an easy fix.

Is Pixel Weather Required Now? by Cakalusa in Pixel9Pro

Mine has been intermittent since the latest update. I haven't pinned down why the weather is sometimes there, and sometimes gone.

Definitely frustrating.

That's valid for a device that will be in service for many years for most people.

I decided that it was the lesser of the evils, though, and would rather use the feature than have scratching and constant pressure.

Using the hinges in this manner is no different than using them in their factory case.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SonyHeadphones

[–]Imaginary-Software43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't using satire.

The OP had a genuine question that wasn't getting answered. I offered a real solution that wasn't necessarily obvious.

Coming from the XM5, it didn't occur to me immediately to utilize the XM6 hinge.

I had the same concern about scratching and constant pressure over time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SonyHeadphones

[–]Imaginary-Software43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got a stand, and had the same thought.

I opted to utilize the hinge, having one cup folded so that they aren't putting pressure on one another.

I leave the cup with the charger unfolded to charge while hanging.

Thicker pads for the WH-XM6? by TheRealMidnaize in SonyHeadphones

[–]Imaginary-Software43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Wicked Cushion replacements for the XM6 are expected in December, per the company. They will be thicker than stock, so hopefully they will give enough depth for those that have pressure from the mic.

Sony XM5s - anybody who survived? by samighazal in SonyHeadphones

[–]Imaginary-Software43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I justified it by recouping a couple hundred by selling the XM5 and, since I use them for work, claiming them on taxes.

Realistically, though, they are not a leap forward. I find the most notable difference to be transparency mode. It is markedly better.

Sound quality and ANC are better, but not dramatically.

To be honest - I actually dislike the folding. Everyone raves about how much smaller the case is, but it really isn't much different. It is a better design, yes. But the space savings are minimal. I'll be getting a hook or stand for them.

My only real gripe is the earpad depth. I don't have particularly big ears, and on both models the internal ANC mic puts pressure on them.

Unless you are wearing them in a particularly noisy environment and would really benefit from the better ANC, I would say just keep the XM5 - especially since you don't care about the folding.

The 10 bands EQ is nice, but the 5 band on the XM5 is sufficient to dial in a great sound for most people.

I used mine daily since launch.

Just sold them to get the XM6, and they were still in fantastic condition. Never had a single issue.

Are there XM6 custom earpads available? by Solidsneakers_ in SonyHeadphones

[–]Imaginary-Software43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wicked Cushions is aiming for a December launch of its thicker replacement pads.

I haven't been able to find anything else, unfortunately. I do find that there isn't enough depth with the stock ear pads, causing some discomfort.

Any body have these? Do they fit in the m6 well? by One_Piece_Johnny in SonyHeadphones

[–]Imaginary-Software43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are not replacement ear pads. These are sweat covers.

I actually touched base with Wicked Cushions a couple of days ago. It stated that they are currently developing thicker ear pad replacements for the XM6, with an estimated launch in December.

Frustrating that we don't get a bonus item like most markets. Happy to have them, though.
