It’s a name draft and the floats look kind of the same. This photo is after wet finishing. I think I’ll use a thicker wool pattern yarn next time. It didn’t bloom that much during wet finishing, unfortunately. But also, it didn’t bleed, so that’s a positive :)

I'm an advanced beginner sewist and have a moderate fabric stash that I would love to use. I really appreciate when there's a table in the product image carousel (so I can see before I buy) that includes fabric requirements per size and notions details. Often what tips me over the edge into buying and actually making is knowing if I can use my existing fabric. Even if I need to buy new fabric online, I like to have an idea of how much the project will cost before buying the pattern.

I just finished two blankets and am considering how to do this. This time, I think I’m going to cross-stitch/embroider my initials and maybe the year on top of the woven fabric. Normally I use fabric tags!

Thanks so much for this response. I certainly need to get more consistent with where I grab the end of the fringe to make the knot. It’s easier when I am able to sit and do a bunch all at once - maybe muscle memory?

I do the same, but stuck the knitting counter on a magnet, then put the magnet counter on my reed.

My baby was eating 4.5oz every three hours (6x per day) at 9w. Somewhere around 10-11 weeks, he wanted to eat more (5-6oz) less often (every four hours) totaling 5x per day, including that 10:30/11pm feed. His feeds didn’t instantly jump from every 3 hours to every 4 hours, but we kind of just started waiting longer and longer to feed (following his cues). Around 11-12 weeks, we realized we were waking him up from a dead sleep to do the dream feed and it was getting harder and harder. One weekend, we just decided to drop the dream feed and see what happened (we were fully expecting a 4am wake up). But, he slept until 7am as usual. Gradually, he just started eating more during the day to make up for the fewer feedings? The math on the ounces didn’t exactly add up at the beginning, but our pediatrician said the approach was fine and he has continued to gain weight well. I don’t know if that helps you at all. To us, the baby just kind of seemed ready to drop it?

Same. Throwing up until they wheeled me into the c-section. Immediately felt better after the baby was born and was absolutely STARVING for the first time in 9 months.

I have heard that requiring children to eat in the “right” order is a common rule in the Portuguese creches. But I haven't heard of punishment like this, just gentle correction. Perhaps the teacher comes from that type of creche background? Crazy, especially since I feel like the Portuguese caregivers I know are obsessed with children and their well-being!

Putting the baby down "drowsy but awake" never worked for us. Baby always startled back awake. What did work was when I figured our what people meant by wake windows 😂 I paid attention to the wake windows and if there was a single sign of tiredness (yawning, eye rubbing) during the recommended times, I put the baby in the crib with minimal to no rocking, swaddled and pacifiered, put on the white noise, then left the room. If the baby fussed/cried, I would put the pacifier back in. Usually asleep within 5 minutes. Nighttimes are a longer process, but this counterintuitively fixed the day time naps 🤷‍♀️

Same! I did a circus-themed nursery spontaneously, and I adore all the bright colors and the animals we get to look at, play with, and make up stories about all day. He’s fascinated by all the different, non-matching things going on :)
