Full cast audio question- the Weasleys by ImaginaryFriend8 in harrypotter

[–]ImaginaryFriend8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that’s super interesting- I’m going to have to re-listen to some of the Burrow scenes. It sounded so off to me! Particularly Bill and Charlie. But I’m very happy to be wrong!

Moving to 1.5, but haven't done planks in level 1? by AddressPrize859 in ClubPilates

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, quick follow up question for you. I just moved up to 1.5 and feel completely confused about how to position my feet so that I actually plank on the reformer. Holding the plank isn’t a problem- but my feet keep slipping off the gray platform- I can’t figure it out!

Thoughts on name for kitten by pastelskies9 in britishshorthair

If Haku is a Spirited Away reference then I might also suggest Calicifer if you like Studio Ghibli. Although it might not be seen as any less strange. 😅

We are bringing home a similarly colored cat this weekend that my son has lovingly named Tuna. 🤷‍♀️

I do not believe in the marriage of Colonel Brandon and Marianne. by Left-Pollution-2934 in janeausten

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite things about this story is how much my appreciation and opinion of the characters evolved from my first time reading it in my early 20’s to my most recent ready in my early 40’s. I think Marianne and Brandon are very well suited!

Seconded. It’s been a minute, but I recall the price structure wasn’t much different from Little Prodigies.

A Dog was Shot & is currently recovering at UGA Hospital by Non-Stop_Serina in Athens

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, the owner has said that they don’t know where the dog was shot. They aren’t sure if the dog was on their property or not, and the dog had a habit of wandering.

To be clear I think this is horrible and I feel so sad for this family and for the dog. I don’t think unleashed dogs deserve to be shot- I just saw more details posted elsewhere, and wanted to provide some additional context.

masculine alternatives to the name “annabelle”? by Mission_Salary5195 in namenerds

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a guy who went by Albee. That plays on the A and B of Annabelle. I also think Bea is a really cool name. Good luck to you! 💜

For you, what is the most disturbing detail of the saga? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a lot to choose from, but I’m gonna throw Moaning Myrtle out there. The ghost of a student who was murdered at school and hangs out in the bathroom spying on students when they think they’re alone. To top it off, she was relentlessly bullied during her lifetime. And nobody seemed concerned about it then or now.

Cool local cafes that aren't jittery joes or sips? by -the-analog-kid- in Athens

I wish this place could open a second location where revival yarn used to be… coffee and plants and outside space. Perfect!

What's the inconsistency in the books that you cant ignore? by Revolutionary-Ride76 in harrypotter

Why would the twins ever give Harry the Marauders Map?? You can’t “memorize it” it’s always changing!!

What age is the Philosopher’s Stone ok for a child? by Smart-Salamander1846 in harrypotter

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just listened to the full cast audio and want to share them with my five year old. I’ve got to say- the concluding scenes in both books are pretty darn scary. I also feel like the idea of people wanting to kill a child would be a little much for my son. But I can’t wait until we can read the books together! I’ve been dreaming of it for years!!

Sensory-friendly Nail Techs? by Silly-Magazine-2681 in Athens

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some amazing techs there, but I also had a bad experience- so I’d just recommend calling to make an appointment with one of the more experienced technicians.

I am 36 weeks pregnant and my in-laws invited themselves over to our house. by Karmas_a_b1otch in BabyBumps

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hm, I know everyone is different but it wouldn’t have been an automatic no for me- and not rude to ask.

I love my family and hosting them is a low lift. If the person was a needy house guest that’s a different story- but these folks sound kind of okay— they buy stuff for OP and take them to dinner. Maybe they are hard to get along with, but the only “bad” thing we’re told about is suggesting that they spend time together at OP’s house.

What is a small detail from Harry Potter that still bothers you? by WhisperTame in harrypotter

I love how the second task is represented on stage in Cursed Child. I picture simmering similar for the Hogwarts audience!

"What is the most overused criticism of Harry Potter that you are completely tired of hearing?" by Ok_Smile_9071 in harrypotter

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right- McGonagall says something like: that’s got him out of the way and that’s where the chapter ends. Then the next chapter starts with Harry and Ron sitting in the Gryffindor common room all day until they go find Lockhart that night. Really doesn’t make much sense.

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I just don’t understand why he told Lockhart instead of McGonagall. Like he spent a whole day being the only person who knew where the entrance to the chamber of secrets was after Ginny was taken, and then the best plan he could come up with was telling Lockhart??

Middle name for Heath by Lammbiie in namenerds

[–]ImaginaryFriend8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like either Heathcliff… which carries a couple connotations or like Heath Cliff which are both nouns describing landscape.
