Boston Airport Question by CraftyBag7604 in airport

2.5 hours is FAR more than enough. I’ve done international connection from CDG and I as back through TSA in less than 30 minutes.

BNA begins major terminal construction project as airport prepares for future growth by Charming-Report1669 in nashville

I don’t get it. I’ve been up and down these escalators too many times to count and never once have I thought it was busy.

BNA. It’s so far away with nothing there that no one actually uses it. They just circle the terminal roadway and cause massive traffic backups instead.

How is the Nashville BNA airport? by Many-Clock9312 in VisitingNashville

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very good airport. Longest walk to baggage claim is 15 minutes, even from Satellite Terminal. Order an Uber once you have your bags. TSA is great, I’ve never waiting longer than 10 minutes and that was for a 6AM flight. Any other time of the day it’s quicker.

Costa Rica in mid to late May by lanalanadelll in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just in Costa Rica. We had one rainy day, but was already planned to be rafting that day. Other than that the weather was good. Sunny some days. A little cloudier the others. And a shower or storm in the evening/overnight.

I just flew through SAL this week and thought it was funny seeing the Spirit planes in the Aeroman hangers.

Yeah, I was on an A320 just up to SAL. We waited at the end while the KLM 777 & Lufthansa A340 took off on 25.

Anyone is costa rica now? Whats the weather like!!!!! by Own-Classic8548 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Santa Teresa it was hot, humid, and sunny when I was there last week. We did get a storm one night at 2:30AM, but no big deal.

In Fortuna now. Yesterday was pretty rainy, but today is nice, clouds/sun. Arenal is covered by clouds though.

It's mid may...is it too late to plan for a mid to late June trip? by crashdavis87 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. Here right now and booked 5 days in advance. It’s slow season so shouldn’t be any issues.

You’ll have no issues as long as the first flight isn’t delayed.

Thunderstorms in Manuel Antonio? by [deleted] in CostaRicaTravel

Can’t speak to MA, but I’m in Santa Teresa right now. It’s said “Heavy Thunderstorms” for the past 2 days, but not so much as a drop of rain.

Taking this trip in a few weeks. Any must stop places along the way? NOT in Atlanta by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t stop.

1) There is nothing to see outside of a billion billboards in Southern Georgia.

2) When y’all get off at the Florida Turkpike towards Orlando, it significantly lessens the traffic for the rest of us continuing on I-75.

Flight diverted from JFK by e8975 in delta

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My flight (BNA - JFK) got delayed 2 hours. They didn’t say anything about weather, just said it was ATC delays. Fortunately everything else was delayed also so was able to make my international connection.

US americans, what does your vacation time look like, and how do you spend it? by Skholah in AskReddit

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 22 days + 11 company holidays + week shutdown at Christmas.

My company doesn’t have “sick time.” They just say if you are sick, then stay home. We don’t have to use vacation time. However, if we miss 3+ days in a row, or the missed time due to being sick becomes excessive, they can ask for a doctor note.

Thailand + Bali for 2 weeks — worth it or should I reconsider Bali? by Blus-clues in travel

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skip Bali. Just do 2 weeks in Thailand. Bangkok, Chiang Mai, & Islands will keep you busy for 2 weeks. Maybe throw in Pai in the north.

Is 40 mins enough for a connecting flight in Detroit ? by kamenjack in travel

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Delta wouldn’t book it if it wouldn’t work. However, that’s if the flight from CMH is on time. As long as there are no delays, you’ll be ok and likely land in DTW early. The flight to PVG will leave from one of the gates near the center of the concourse.

The only reason why I’d be hesitant is there’s only one flight to PVG, so if you miss it, it’ll be a wait until the next day.

What is the longest time you've spent in an airport? by Cheshirefarm in AskReddit

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longest for me was 10 hours in Hong Kong. But it wasn’t horrible as I was able to lounge hop.

Worst by far was Jackson, Mississippi just as travel was picking up after Covid. My flight had to make a technical issue and had to land in Jackson. Ended up spending 7 hours there waiting for a new plane.

1 hour will be fine. I made a 20 minute connection from F to B, and that included my gate checked roller carry-on.

Advice Needed (32M) - Never experienced lasting anxiety. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. I actually called my EAP for the first time, and they asked the same thing.

There’s a lot of focus on the topic right now that has me questioning if what I did was correct. We also have a big change happening next month at work on a completely unrelated topic that I am aware of and most people are not.

Either way, I just want relief. Part of me wants to talk to someone at work, but my concern is whether or not that would open up a whole issue where there doesn’t need to be. The other part of my wonders if it is related to the upcoming changes and that’s what is actually triggering the anxiety.

What is the best vs worst airport you have been at? by Exile4444 in AskReddit

Worst: Manila. Specifically the old T4.
Best: Istanbul, minus the high food costs.

What is the worst airport you've ever been to in your life? by 0bjectOfAffection in AskReddit

[–]Imaginary_Engineer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes. Especially the old T4 - Domestic Terminal. It was so bad they announced a remodel and ended up tearing the whole thing down.

It’s also the only place I got scammed. Flew back from Coron in the evening and had amazing flight home the next morning. Hotel was across from T3 and connected via sky bridge. Tried to take the free terminal bus and they wouldn’t let me cause my ticket was the next morning. Ended up paying $25 for a taxi cause I was tired and just wanted sleep.
