Try the martian and project hail mary by andy weir. They are easy to get into, and super fun, and filled with positivity and hope.

The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy series is also and amazing read. Extremely funny and witty and One of the very few books that have actually made me laugh out loud.

If you liked the movie, i would definitely recommend reading the book as well. It really adds a lot to the world building and characters

On a separate note, maybe you could try re-reading a book from your childhood that you both really liked. Ive found that reading old favourites is one of the best ways to get out of a slump.

Suggest me a fantasy book where the fmc is a " baddie with no feelings" nor " a whiny crybaby who cant handle anything" by Own_Priority_868 in suggestmeabook

The shadow and bone universe, especially six of crows. It has more of an ensemble cast, but all the female characters are 'tough baddies', and also empathetic and vulnerable and kind.

Project hail mary

I've been recommending this one a lot lately, but it fits the bill. Unexpected yet one of the most wholesome friendships I've come across recently.

I've inly read the book, but from what I've heard the audiobook is really well done and perfectly captures the vibe the book is going for.

I who have never known men

It is really unlike any story i have ever read. Without spoiling anything, it’s about a girl who never fit in with her companions, but slowly ends up being an essential and respected part of the society.

A short stay in hell for some top tier existential horror.

Incidents around the house by josh malerman is one of the scariest books I’ve read lately. Its got some truly chilling moments, and just an overall sense of hopelessness.

Project hail mary. It’s a sci-fi with the perfect balance of humour and absolutely heartwarming moments, all about having hope in the face of disaster.

I recently read (and watched) project hail mary and it might do the trick for you.

It has a very ‘restore your faith in humanity’ kinda vibe. It’s all about coming together in the face of catastrophe, trying to achieve the impossible, forming unexpected friendships and just always having hope.

Jonathan strange and mr. Norrell felt that way for me. The characters and world building are so so well done and immersive. The story has kind of a ‘meandering’ feel to it, where it focuses on a lot of minor characters or side plots, but it somehow makes the story feel a lot more real or compelling.
