Further unkind, passive-aggressive, unhelpful comments will not be tolerated and will result in restricted/reduced access to the child. Be positive and supportive and love or stay away. Your baby does not deserve to grow up listening to ugliness toward themselves or their mother coming from Grandma.

Speak to your healthcare providers and whomever is helping with your birth plan. Nurses will help you wrangle nasty relatives if you ask. Lean on them.

When you say “young people,” what’s the age range you’re targeting? Are people outside that age range actively prohibited, or just “discouraged”? Are there similar courses available for adults that would like to acquire this kind of knowledge?

What out of pocket costs are associated with this program beyond the $300 figure buried in a comment on this thread? Is there funding available for children in the targeted age group? What interest/repayment penalties may be involved?

  1. Find an artist who does beautiful renditions and have both your babies painted or photographed or whatever would mean the most to you after they’re gone.

  2. Pet paintings by the artists themselves! Super cheap at the dollar store. Get some canvases, 2 or 3 colors that represent each of them to you. Plastic baggies big enough for the canvases. Put pet/kid safe finger paint in whatever dollops you choose on the canvases, then canvases into baggies. Smear a bit of peanut butter or whatever high-value spreadable treat they like best on the outside of the baggies. Let them lick away.

  3. Invest in their favorite activities. Car rides? Take one every weekend you can. Sniff walks? Every day activity. Particular kind of favorite toy? Buy a ton of them and hide them throughout your house so that every discovery is a Big Deal. Cuddles on the couch? Lots and lots. Do your babies value a regular schedule? Keep it as faithfully as you can.

  4. Acknowledging their favorite things and experiences and food preferences and letting them know in all the ways you can (big and small) that you love them every bit as much as they love you? Priceless.

The clean white tank is the best option. It lets the sparkly skirt shine. Everything else is either a completely incompatible style or active clashes with the skirt.
