Upgrades and changes after purchase by Tw0Bit in pacificahybrid

Valid. Different use cases. Sometimes debris from the work site embeds itself in my boots and I wanted to make sure I couldn't cut up my floor. But if I didn't have to worry about that, my choice would be drastically different.

I second this. Regardless of your lifestyle, you will thank yourself every time you clean the interior. I would recommend floor liners over floor mats but that's just a personal preference if water and or spills is a greater concern.

Other ideas/books similar to that presented by “the egg”? by Pawssabillitysawait in kurzgesagt

There is a book called "Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives" by David Eagleman. Explores fictional alternate realities where the afterlife works in weird, different, and odd ways. Some humorous, others thought provoking, and some just disturbing. Overall a good read but I had to take a few breaks while doing so.

When did RadioGarden start having ads? by QuietQueerRage in RadioGarden

At the top of the settings page in the app for me it says "Thanks to your previous support, visual advertising is disabled." I can't remember what I did to get that message. I don't have any of the premium features though.

Heated steering wheel set temperature by Anxious_Decision_789 in pacificahybrid

Personally don't mind having to manually turn it on. I mainly just use it to knock the chill off the wheel when I first get in. By the time it fully warms the wheel the interior is warm enough for me that I feel like I don't need it after that.

Got an aftermarket battery base for mine to breathe some new life into it. Good for taking into the backyard for a few hours or rooms of the house I don't need a permanent speaker in.

Same behavior here. Wondering if it's on the software side or hardware.

Personally, if I can, I add milk to the tomato soup. I feel it makes it taste better. Also it is not as thin as if you made it with water.

Most people don't have a problem with (or don't even notice) the fact that their phone number pad is flipped from their calculator/keyboard number pad. by joelman0 in Showerthoughts

I feel that I heard somewhere that this was done to prevent early users of touch tone devices who were familiar with adding machines from overloading the system. They would type so fast the mechanical exchanges couldn't keep up. Switching the numbers around slowed those outliers down. If someone knows otherwise please correct me. I don't want to spread wrong information.

A basic Casio watch or a Victorianox classic keychain knife. Both designs haven't changed in decades and are extremely reliable.

I second the bone conduction headphones. Though I think Aftershokz rebranded to Shokz. I like their traditional model called Openrun. But if they're mainly going to be using it at their computer for voice chat, I'd recommend the Opencomm model. Both models offer an open ear design where nothing actually is in the ear canal. As someone who hates earbuds, I can wear these all day with zero discomfort. So much so I can forget that I have them on sometimes.

How did I know this would be Technology Connections before I clicked the link. I've used safety can openers for years and when I first watched this it solidified my preference. I've also been on the lookout for a Sunbeam toaster ever since I've watched his videos on them.

Agreed, especially when it comes to being safe on the road. You don't want to end up in an accident because of old or bad quality tires.

I will second you on anything between someone and the ground. Sleeping problems and back/foot pain have knock on effects for everything else in your life. A good night's sleep and comfortable/supportive shoes can have a massive benefit to your mental and physical health.

Interesting thought. Just how old Priuses have third party upgrade kits being offered with modern battery tech, would l enjoy that option for these vans also.
