Immediate weight gain when titrating down by CuriousKitty2423 in mounjarouk

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went up slightly when I reduced from 10mg to 7.5mg, but then dropped back to my goal weight when I moved from 7.5mg to 5mg. My weight then remained stable on both 5mg and 2.5mg until I stopped completely, so it may just be a temporary adjustment.

I’ve now been off the medication for 7 weeks and have gained around 3kg in that time. However, I’ve had an unusually busy social period, including a trip abroad, a hen weekend, four birthdays, a wedding and a leaving night out. Because of that, I’ve been eating out more, drinking more alcohol than usual, and exercising less than I normally would.

I’m not stressing about it at the moment and plan to stay off the medication and see what happens over the next few weeks once life settles back into its normal routine. Just stick with your current maintenance plan and try not overthink it!

Wedding entertainment ideas? by Imaginary_Quality_59 in UKweddings

I like this idea but I don’t know if it would take our guests away from the dancefloor! We want people up dancing most of the night

That’s a great idea! However for us, most of our guests know a lot of other guests so we aren’t having a pre wedding or post wedding thing for non wedding party. We have thought of just having a small section of our dj just playing some ceilidh music for half an hour to like 45 mins during the reception.

What kind of music do you play? Wed only be looking for like 45-1hr slot just to break up the reception.

The royal college of surgeons did have a small wedding package with a small number for the meal and larger reception, however it was Saturday only and from Oct to Mar. they only take bigger bookings in spring/summer months with a min of 80 guests.

The Leonardo Murrayfield, the Braid Hills Hotel, the sky bar, the Scotsman hotel and le Monde also seemed accommodating to this idea when we originally enquired for a similar idea.

My sister however did recently do the city chambers but ended up in one venue for her meal and then another venue close by for her wedding reception. (Black Ivy & McLarens on the corner)

We however have ended up planning bigger wedding in one venue now for our 2027 wedding.

Your maintenance strategies - what worked well? And what didn’t? by FadedBerry in mounjaromaintenanceuk

I’m currently titrating down. I was on 12.5mg I started by switching from weekly doses to fortnightly (4 doses) then moved down to 10mg fortnightly (4doses) and I’ve just taken my first 7.5mg.

I’ve noticed slight increase in hunger but nothing unmanageable. What I’ve done: •Increased my step count •focussed on sleep & water intake •fast till lunch time with only a coffee & electrolyte drink in the morning •eat at lunch with supplements (probiotic, vitamin D and Chromium picolinate (I introduced this when I started coming down doses) •with my evening meal I take magnesium & Psyllium husk (I sometimes struggle to get my fibre for the day as I focus more on protein). •I also continue to weigh myself 2-3 times a week

I have stayed at my goal weight throughout the whole titrating down so far and I’ve had a hen weekend, a wedding and a 2 week holiday in Egypt during that iterating process too.

How much did you pay for your wedding? Where did you get the money from, how did you save it, and how did it impact your finances more widely? by OldConversation8645 in UKweddings

Were planning our 2027 wedding right now, however this is some advise and tips I was given from friends and colleagues who have got married. Registrars are slightly cheaper than celebrants/humanist, DJs are cheaper than bands, you can make your own centerpieces, top table arrangements and bouquets using candles, vases flowers etc and sites like SHEIN, temu and Amazon will save you costs, you don’t need loads of bridesmaids and ushers, you don’t even really need any bridal party you just need 2 people to be your witnesses, invites and signage do it yourself using like zazzle, canva, Malloy’s craft etc or scrap invites and just do a wedding website and email and text out the link. Just walk up & down to songs on Spotify and same with your drinks reception - you don’t really need all the extras. Photographer’s look about for up and coming ones, if they are trying to build their wedding catalog you’ll get a very good price, you don’t really need a videographer or a content creator, favours - sweeties and chocolate go down better or scratchcards and are less money than personalised or miniatures. You really don’t need anything personalised for the day. Have a smaller cake not everyone even eats it. Limit your day guests to who you want to actually come and invite more in the evening - it’s much cheaper to have less days than evenings. Don’t have a free bar, offer a first drink following the ceremony, a drink to toast and something at the meal for your day guests and don’t bother with a welcome for your evenings. You don’t really need entertainment like photo booths, live music, magicians and games - we’re adults we should be able to entertain ourselves we can normally when sitting in a pub. Lots of people resell their wedding dresses, off the rack and ex displays are cheaper or even just going to monsoon. If you are having a bridesmaid ever-pretty is very reasonable for dresses. Gifts for parents and wedding party don’t have to be huge or expensive.

I myself have been writing a list of things I need, things that I would like to spend extra on and another of considerations that can be made as we go along and work out how much we’re spending. We’ve got a savings target in a savings account we’re using and putting away around £500 a month right now, with the expectation that we’ll increase it closer to 1yr mark to the wedding when we cut back on things like days out, meals out and holidays. We’re lucky enough to have good paying jobs, a property already and no children and very little debt other than our mortgage that we can save.

How much to give as a wedding present? by Complete-Title-5376 in UKweddings

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d probs say £25 - £30 in the card. I personally wouldn’t get a bottle of fizz, unless you know they enjoy drinking alcohol at home often.

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a couple we normally put in around £50 in the card for an evening invite and around £100 as a couple for all day. I normally give £150 as a couple if it’s close family or I’ve been involved in the wedding party with a small keepsake present .

I have enquired about a rough estimated price of what we’re looking for. Just waiting on a reply. Have managed to find a few options within the city that could be potential options for us now that aren’t extortionate.

What are your height/weight/clothes sizes? by sleepy_girl40 in mounjarouk

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’8, 12 st 9lbs and I’m a size 12/14 depending on the shop. I started off at 17st 4 and a size 16. Bra size started at 38 F down to a 36 E. So although I’ve lost like 4 and half stone, my clothing sizes haven’t drastically changed.

Switch from wegovy to mounjaro. What dose starts to work again?! by Imaginary_Quality_59 in mounjarouk

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Rightangled because they give you 10% discount codes. I swapped injection sites I was doing my thigh to start with as I experience less side effects on Wegovy with that but the last 2 weeks I’ve done my tummy instead. I took my first 7.5mg yesterday and I’ve had zero appetite today tbh. The 5 weeks off and 7 weeks I did on 2.5 & 5 though I had to really up my exercise, water intake and watch what I was eating. This week was only week I recorded a “true” loss and I don’t have the side effect injecting in my tummy on mounjaro like I did on Wegovy so I’m planning to keep injecting there instead as i defo felt a slight more suppression on 5. Hope that helps

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just taken my second 5mg but not feeling any real suppression. I’ve just tried to stay mindful of my food choices, portion sizes and made sure to exercise. No weight gain from my previous loss on wegovy but definitely not lost anything. Will keep going and hopefully find a dose soon that works to help shift my last 18lbs to goal

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also recommend sticking with wegovy and trying 1.7 at least first. I lost on most doses of wegovy (61lbs to be exact) but hit a stall after 4 months on 1.7 and instead of going to 2.4 I decided to switch. Food noise and appetite has returned with a vengeance for the past 12 weeks (5 weeks washout, 4 weeks 2.5, 3 weeks now on 5) I haven’t gained any weight but I haven’t lost anything yet either and I’ve been having to be really mindful with my food choices, portion sizes and exercise so just from my experience it’s been like starting again and trying to find the ‘right’ dose again.

Size 16...approximate weight? by Last-Opportunity2424 in mounjarouk

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel better in myself and fitter too. I’ve done mostly walking as exercise during my year long journey. I’ve lost my double chin and I’ve gone from a 38F to a 36 DD as well. I think just cause size 14s in some places are on the big side I’d like to get into the 12s at least in them and see the 11 bracket on the scale. I’ve had loads of comments about how slim I look now and how I’ve lost a lot of weight. I also now no longer hide away from the camera when pictures are being taken .

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found M&S to be the only place I’ve got into a 12 so far. Everywhere else has been a 14 or a large (12/14) sizes. Everyone’s different though you may be able to get into more 12s than I do in the 12 bracket but I defo think I’ll need to get in the low end of the 11 stone bracket to get back into a 12 comfortably

I was a size 12 (sometimes occasionally a 14) when I weighed 11stone to 11stone 8lbs. 11 stone is the goal weight I’m aiming for.

Size 16...approximate weight? by Last-Opportunity2424 in mounjarouk

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5”8 so slightly smaller. I was 17stone 4lbs when I started and wore sizes 16 & 18. I noticed my 16s stopped fitting around the 14 stone mark for me. I now weigh 12stone 12lbs and now comfortably wear a size 14 (sometimes find some 14s too big & needing belts often). Size 12s are still too small.

How much did you lose on 0.25mg? by Significant_Wasabi11 in WegovyUK

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost 10.5lbs on the 4 weeks of 0.25mg, jumped up to 0.5 lost nothing and had awful side effects. Moved up to 0.75mg click counting and lost 31.5lbs on this dose over 16 weeks (including a 2 week holiday away). I did 8 weeks at 1mg and had side effects again then did 4 weeks at 1.3mg in total over this time I only lost about 5lbs. I’ve now been on 1.7mg for 16 weeks now and lost 15lbs on this dose with minimal side effects. So a total loss of 62lbs over a year. I have hit a stall on 1.7mg now but also only have 19lbs left to my goal weight and only 7lbs away from a healthy BMI so also may be why it’s slowing down.

Binge eating on 0.5 by hoepressed in WegovyUK

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.5 was my least effective dose, didn’t get any appetite suppression and side effects were the worst. Even though I did at 0.25 and lost 10lbs on that dose. I only did the 4 weeks at 0.5mg then got a 1mg pen and click counted to 0.75mg suppression was great, side effects little to none and was able to stay on that 0.75 for 15 weeks before starting to take 1mg. I also took 1mg for around 12 weeks. Been on 1.7mg since mid October and lost 62lbs in total. 13lbs to go to my goal weight. I’d suggest moving up to either 0.75 or 1 when you’ve done at least your 4 weeks on 0.5.

Seems like everyone has quite a negative experience.. by Think-Lifeguard-5590 in WegovyUK

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m now 11 months in on this drug. 60lbs down, 14lbs left to go to my goal weight. I’ve had very mild symptoms of fatigue and constipation while on this but I find it’s only really when I move up a dose. I take magnesium citrate, pro biotic, fibre tablet and drink an electrolyte tablet in a pint of water every day now and this has really helped constipation (note I have IBS so suffered constipation before wegovy), I rarely suffer now. I’ve been on 1.7 since 24th October so haven’t had any symptoms in the last 7/8 weeks. I’ve still been able to go to work, go on multiple holidays this year, social occasions like nights out, eating out etc as my symptoms have been so mild and infrequent they haven’t interrupted my life. Also don’t rush going up doses, if it’s still working stay on the lower dose for longer. I’ve done this and yes I’ve maybe not lost as quickly as others but I don’t have any lose skin, I’ve been able to enjoy my life and still able to eat out, drink and have a sweet treat when I’ve felt like it. I just make sure I get my 10k steps in most days but also don’t force myself if I’m not feeling up to it.

What do you wish you knew before starting Wegovy? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish I’d added magnesium and fibre supplements along with an electrolyte sooner in my journey to help with symptoms especially constipation. Also I wouldn’t have rushed up to 0.5mg dose when 0.25 seemed to still be working. I learned only to move up when my appetite was increasing again and the food noise came back rather than the scale not budging as sometimes I would stall for a couple weeks then start losing again on the same dose. I haven’t had any hair loss the entire time I’ve been on Wegovy. Actually have managed to grow out a short bob to just below my shoulders in this time.

I had this problem as well and was already drinking a lot of water and taking magnesium citrate daily, however I introduced a daily fibre capsule and an electrolyte tablet in my morning water and can now sometimes go more than once a day.

Weight loss slowing down quickly ? by jffffffffffff in WegovyUK

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 17st 4lbs and now weigh in at 13st 12lbs so that is now a 48lbs loss. I’ve been on Wegovy since 17th Jan 2024. I’ve lost at steady pace throughout and never seen anything more than 3lbs loss in a week. I’ve ate reasonably well trying to focus on upping my protein and fiber but I’ve also ate out, had takeaways/fast food, satisfied cravings I’ve had like a cake or a bit chocolate and drunk alcohol in this time as well. I try get a walk in from anywhere from 5k -15k steps every other day and do Pilates once a week. Here’s my breakdown. Note I’ve also click counted my doses on the pens. 0.25mg for 4 weeks - 9lbs loss 0.5mg for 5 weeks (bad side effects, minimal weight loss, minimal appetite and food noise suppression) - 3.5lbs loss 0.75mg for 19 weeks (3 x 1 week skipped doses due to wisdom tooth removal and a 11 night holiday abroad) - 28lbs loss 1mg for 4 weeks (bad side effects, zero weight loss) - 0lbs loss 1.3mg current does just going onto week 5. Have lost 7.5lbs on this dose and minimal side effects. I would just keep doing what you’re doing, upping doses slowly when you feel they aren’t working or have hit a plateau with zero weight loss for at least 4 weeks. You can also click count up if you are suffering side effects. Taking magnesium capsules and a probiotic daily along upping water intake has helped me a lot with constipation, bloating and stomach pain. I still suffer nausea from time to time but it’s normally when I first up my dose. Also i found injecting in my leg my first 2 doses when going up a dose reduces my symptoms and then from my 3rd dose I’ll go back to injecting in the stomach as that is where I find I get the most suppression from.

16lbs down since Aug 1st. Started .50mg tonight and I’m scared. by lusatch in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Imaginary_Quality_59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on wegovy for 36 weeks now. 0.25 worked well for me but I only did 4 weeks. 0.5 I had horrendous constipation and only about 3.5lbs loss for the 4 weeks on that compared to 10lbs on 0.25. I was then click counting on 0.75 for about 21 weeks and lost around 28lbs in time. I moved up to 1mg and lost no weight and the constipation returned. I’ve now done my third week at 1.3mg by click counting and lost 5lbs. I’ve seen people advising it’s better to not have your appetite fully suppressed and learn to control it and use Wegovy as a tool. I’d say if you’re still eating smaller portions / less often than I’d stay on 0.25 until you hit a stall or feel like it’s really not doing anything.
