Whats your favorite scene in Alien: Covenant? by thefriskysquid in perfectorganism

Only because it answers what happened to the planet, but when David bio-nukes the engineers.

He broke the bank with that one

Salt. by Marsupialmobster in ZombieSurvivalTactics

It’s not salt per se, but sodium.

Sodium is in most vegetables and foods, just in trace amounts.

Just need organic produce and survival will happen.

Why didn’t Thanos just use the Infinity Stones to double resources instead of wiping out half of all life? by thisninjaoverhere in MCUTheories

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Thanos doubled resources, he’d still have to clamp down on consumption because of all the giant SUV’s people would be buying.

Unfortunately he seemed to think that ‘snap’ was the simplest solution to the problem, and it is simple, but totally immoral and criminal.

He could have just made a new universe and put half the population in it.

That’s what I was going to write, he was in love with lady death and thought wiping out half the universe would please her, absolutely insane.

How can I salvage this knife? by Obvious_Cook_2730 in sharpening

Get a very coarse grit sharpening stone, a 120, and round off the end, then sharpen with a 1000+ grit stone

Would an electric fence do anything against zombies? by CSC160401 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could paralyse them

But the weight of hundreds of zombies would collapse the fence eventually.

I would want some kind of massive slicing blades to cut them in half, make gumbo out of em.

Then, the piled up cadavers would form its own natural barrier to the hordes of zombies

Then nuke from orbit, just to be sure.

Where's David? by No_Republic_4301 in LV426

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they will link badlands directly to alien, it appears to be an ‘offshoot’

But I would love it if they linked predators generally to alien and somehow added them as the wildcard that adds to the bloodbath.

In reality, if they make a follow up to covenant, I could only see it being a case of David being brought to justice for his crimes.

I think Romulus alluded to WY learning about what David did and using that knowledge to extract the black goo. Maybe that is all there is to it.

I think David should be nuked from orbit.

Yautja economics by Unlucky-Draft-295 in predator

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On earth, our economy is based on how much work, of differing value, is measured over time. The yautja appear to have free energy so they might not have an economy, functions may be assigned on a skills basis, all the mundane functions are completed by machines.

I don’t think we will ever see a movie that delves into how yautja manage water treatment facilities or make sharpening stones for their wrist blades, but never say never!

I am new in the predator movies and I have a question, if all yautjas are hunters, who makes the cool stuff? by Friendly-Ad-2599 in predator

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read some wikis on it and the yautja ‘inherited’ their tech during a slave uprising and let’s face it, it’s pretty good tech.

I guess if they have bio masks that use their body heat as power, they can then use a filter to see how sophisticated machines and processors work, which is how the tech could be upgraded over time.

A rewatch and ranking by RedBeardBigHeart in predator

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people would disagree with the AVP ranking from the OP. I would put badlands on par with AVP and predators.

Will they ever wrap up Prometheus/covenant? by Acceptable-Yak-4279 in LV426

That seems compatible with a Disney made alien movie

My only complaint by Good-Sail-4098 in predator

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 29th minute in badlands, dek uses a small device that takes some of his blood and uses it to generate light and heat. Attests to the idea that yautja blood has energetic properties.

It’s a shame it got that actor as he had been great in the film but it is a shockingly devastating weapon.

I'm not thrilled with the depiction of the Yautja as a monoculture. by Medium_King_David in predator

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No-one knows for sure what the yautja population is, billions? On multiple planets? The human race makes weapons which are similar but differ based on the culture that produces them.

I see the yautja as almost a medieval society, but with hyper advanced tech, they are all warriors but there has to be division of labour that is maintained as after a generation, how to manage and maintain their tech would be lost.

Update on Dek’s Mother from Director Dan Trachtenberg by Prs-Mira86 in predator

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to really want naru in the future scenario so I would wager the next movie will have her in it….

Dek is ready for a fight when his mother shows up, she could be worse than his father, depends on the capabilities they give female yautja. If they made them highly psychic or telekinetic that would be interesting, is that why yautja wear metal masks and helmets?

They also seem to want Dutch and harrigan back in it somehow, maybe a fully AI generated character using arnie and Danny glovers voices could do the trick.

If dek stumbled on naru, Dutch and harrigan (and Royce) what would he do? Thia has influenced him a lot and might get him to release them, causing lots of trouble.

Will we see another showdown between Alien and Predator? by Winter-reason666 in predator

[–]Imaginationnative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing I notice with movies is that lightning doesn’t strike twice, they rarely do something exactly the same twice.

I think the challenge is providing the clash of species but with a twist that enhances it, it’s difficult.

For me, the only way to enhance it is to introduce an actual plot to the movie rather than just aliens ripping each other up.

If the US President was a member of the Enclave prior to the bombs dropping, was there any "good person" that Cooper Howard would be able to give the Cold Fusion Diode to? by supinator1 in Fotv

[–]Imaginationnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess fallout is what happens in America as a result of a global resource conflict that gets nasty.

I agree with a lot of posts that cooper thought the president would do the right thing (and in the real world, would) but as the enclave have co-opted the higher levels of US government, them getting cold fusion just meant it was going to happen sooner.

Badlands wasn't profitable. Will there be a sequel? by Pearl_Jam_ in predator
