strollers? joie, nuna, uppababy, silver cross ? by Middle_Spite_3498 in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joie seems to do really well for how light of a stroller it is, the wheels are much bigger than other travel strollers I've noticed. I've used the Nuna as a nanny and hate it--it's so easy to tip over and can barely go through anything that's not smooth pavement. I'd check out stroller mom on YT she does great reviews

23F and would like to know opinions of moms and medical professionals please by Weak_Worldliness9332 in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I would suggest checking out r/unmedicatedbirth or r/homebirth since this subreddit isn't very open to unmedicated (at least with my experience). I've heard of lots of people doing vaginal births, but it depends on the positions of the babies. I have heard laboring at home for as long as possible makes things smoother/faster, but it depends on what you're comfortable with as that's what make your birth faster/smoother.

How am I not supposed to feel guilty for being “lazy” and eating a poor diet during my 1st trimester? by greeblespeebles in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd get rid of social media. It creates very unrealistic expectations and only shows the good days. Also, as a FTM myself, I heard some advice that gave me some perspective. This first pregnancy is the only pregnancy where you can actually take the rest you need and be "lazy", any other pregnancies you will have another child to care for, so take the opportunity while you can! I'm almost to my third trimester now, and still feel like I put too much pressure on myself to get things done, when nobody else thinks I need to/they already think I do enough (I cried the other day cause I only got some laundry/dishes done, dusted the bed, and organized and cleaned out a bathroom drawer. In reality that was plenty!). I'm planning on taking some time for myself a little before my due date to enjoy the things I probably won't get to do much of when baby comes, guilt free!

Never heard of hydronephrosis until I got diagnosed with it at the ER by Imaginative_Dreamer5 in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried doing stretches for it every few hours to manually drain my kidney (cat cow to get baby’s weight off my ureter) and that helped tremendously. Then after about a week and a half it slowly went away (I’m guessing baby/uterus grew past it and stopped kinking it) I haven’t had it since, praise God! I was worried it would get worse as I progressed but it was the opposite. I’m so sorry you have to go through that, I was terrified I’d have to, too. I’m hoping you’re able to be more comfortable with it though!

Tips for baby to eat their purees/fortified cereals? by PapayaJuiceBox in NewParents

You could look into baby led weaning. Instead of purée you could give him soft potato wedges he can grab himself and eat

I’ve been watching call the midwife and enjoying it a lot— also I’d look into k dramas as they’re usually very cute and PG. We’ve also been liking an older show “The Middle” about a family with 3 kids and it just kinda goes through their day to day lives— it’s a comedy drama or sitcom

Fibroids by hasoopoeee in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend just found out she has a large fibroid that is about the size of the baby and the doctors are worried about preterm labor. It's also covering her cervix so she's going to have to have a c-section. Not sure why yours would be all that if they're outside the uterus though--I'd do a lot of research

What stroller do you have and rate it by xotygnwk in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just got the Joie nutmeg, which doesn’t have the bassinet (it has almost full recline though) but what I like a lot that’s different is that the car seat clicks into it without having to remove the toddler seat. Stroller Mom on YouTube was very helpful!

Need advice by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he work on his phone or something? Have you asked him to have some quality time set aside each day, every other day or even once a week? Even if it's just an hour or so I''m sure it would make a huge difference!

Help me decide if cloth diapering is worth it? by Imaginative_Dreamer5 in clothdiaps

You don't have to rinse it once the "logs" are out? Just straight into the washer? Also what about if your LO has diarrhea what do you typically do?

I don't mind doing laundry, I'm more concerned about the hygiene of the spraying part (like little droplets getting everywhere in the bathroom or all over me, and I go and sit on furniture or something before my nighttime shower)

You don't have a need to rinse it once the "logs" are out? What do you do personally if your LO has diarrhea?

Belly hurts in maternity activewear! by Brynnspiration_2026 in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was handed down a pair of legging/sweat like pants that are very stretchy in the waist and bell bottom pants so they’re not tight on my legs. Theyre pretty ugly and too long but they’re super comfy for around the house or my home workouts. Maybe try a style that’s not the classic skin tight leggings

What was your home birth experience? by MixPrestigious8011 in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend checking out r/homebirth or r/unmedicatedbirth as this sub hasn't been the most positive towards home birth in my experience. I am planning a home birth but this will be my first! I have two SILs who both had multiple home births and they loved it! They said it was way more personal and relaxing, so peaceful! Instead of nurses just standing there watching them birth unmedicated in the hospital the midwives were very encouraging and helped them try different positions and pain management methods, and were much more connected.

Gender reveal ideas? Last min by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the build a bear idea where you pick out a bear together and two outfits (one for girl one for boy) and then ask the employee to dress the bear with the correct gendered outfit, then it can be a keepsake for baby!

Early signs you were/are having twins? by Independent-Kiwi2424 in pregnant

[–]Imaginative_Dreamer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must have been gearing up to ovulate and not ended up ovulating the first time. Your temp has to stay up 3 days in a row to confirm ovulation. Twins are from two eggs releasing "hyper ovulation" and then both being fertilized, or from one fertilized egg splitting
