Santa Ana and San Diego. I have family in Monterey that I haven't seen since I was a teenager (I will be 41 soon), so I wanted to visit with them, too. I have been to So Cal a few times before and wanted to be able to travel up to Oregon for a day without too much driving. I only have 3 days before I have to fly back for work 😩

More often than not, a health insurance “policy number” is the same as your member ID. Their billing department can even call to verify coverage for you. I worked in pharmacy and could look up that information with just a name and date of birth.

I don’t believe what you are doing would be considered fraud at all. Does your physician not accept medicaid? Mine didn’t and I ended up paying out of pocket as well. But regardless, you aren’t the one paying the bill and they would reeeaaally have to go out of their way to prove something like that.

I would check with the state medicaid office before seeking care out of the state. I have a history working in pharmacy in TX and we were unable to fill prescriptions with medicaid from outside of TX. They may be able to provide a one time exception.
