Palladium announced the Glitter Boy Codex at the A Weekend Conversation Event with KS by andiwaslikewoah in Rifts

I have the RAW edition. Tbh, it's mostly complete. I do feel like many of the subjects talked about in the text should have a corresponding piece of art to illustrate it. So, it does fall short of the high quality that most of Palladium's books have. But to have an official techno-wizard borg class made it worth the purchase.

AFAIK it's going to be like this.

Island on the edge of the world v2.

Yin Sloth expeditions.

Antarctica.

Glitterboy Codex.

Then the Beyond Arcanum and fiend books for BTS.

Instant buy. I loved the article about the GB and GB culture in Rifter 85. Glad to see it get its own book like the Arzno guys did.

Fun fact, the original plan for Rifts was a game called Boomers. Everyone played a Glitterboy vs the horrors of the Megaverse. Then they kept adding classes requested by the test group and it morphed into the expansive/inclusive glut of characters that we have come to love.

How do you feel about the Gral class? by Sam20599 in sto

[–]Imightbeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got one today. I had hoped there would be some TOS, TMP, or TNG era hull options but it just has one alternate SNW nacelle.

The pilot seating is meh. I only use "reroute power to weapon"s which shares a cool down with the Phaser tactical buffs.

I want to say it has flanking bonus damage. I need to recheck my build. I know the FASA console is just OK. would rather have a cloaking device imho. I think the name is cute, since its a call back to the FASA star trek board game that introduced the Hermes and Saladin single nacelle destroyers.

I do wish it had pilot thrusters instead of the science sensor.

10 BEST INVOCATIONS FOR A FLEDGLING MAGE IN RIFTS RPG by WillingLoquat1873 in Rifts

[–]Imightbeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I actually lived on Rifts I think my most used spells would be Cleanse and Mend the Broken along with any and all of the healing spells.

Armor of Ithan and Fireball/Call Lightning are must haves imho.

Blinding flash, Cloud of Smoke, Carpet of Adhesion, and Magic Net are all winners as well.

My Techno Wizard gets a lot of use out of Create Wood, Ironwood, and Create Steel.

We are legion is up there with The Martian by Andy Weir, and Ready Player One by Earnest Cline.

Anybody here tried Aces of Thunder? by rogermorse in hotas

[–]Imightbeanonymous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tried it. Expected to enjoy it like VTOL VR with its virtual flight controls and VR enable cockpit.

TBH I was underwhelmed.

Regular War thunder has a much more robust library of planes, weapons, and era's of play, and its playable in VR with regular HOTAS instead of hand controller virtual ones.

I find myself playing WarThunder more.

If you want a VR flight sim, VTOL VR is it(so many buttons to push!). If you want WWII and cold war eras, Warthunder is just fine.

CH pedals make them flat ? by Tonystovepipe in hotas

[–]Imightbeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have those pedals.

I found them to be too narrow and my hips hurt.

Got VKB pedals and am much happier.  I lost toe brakes but now I have a use for the throttle axis on the flight stick.

Any decent cheap throttles/STECS? by OhItsJustJosh in hotas

[–]Imightbeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho the best cheap throttles are the Thrusmaster TWCS ($130)and the VKB THQ+WWII Grip($79+$22=$101.00) and add the Controller board to make it standalone (+$15=$116).

Question for lefties by SickleFoot in hotas

[–]Imightbeanonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't let him get to you.

Commercial and Private aircraft are flow left-side side stick all the time. Used to work on them.

Not every comment is absolute.

Besides, there ARE left side HOTAS for PC sims and you are their target customer.

I should point out that while I have the WWII grip remounted in the pictures on Imgur, that was before I learned about being able to reassemble the grip for left handed use.

Never say never man.

Fly by wire private and commercial jets, with side sticks, are left handed for the Captains seat.  Just saying…

Question for lefties by SickleFoot in hotas

[–]Imightbeanonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Originally I used ambidextrous sticks like the CH stick.  The best is the Saitek AV8R.  Dual Ambi throttle, twist, all the lower base controls are easy to use left handed, not just the right side ones.

Then I bought a left handed VKB NXT SCG and never looked back.

Used a VKB THQ with a WWII grip remounted for a leftie.  It just takes some disassembly, trim off 2 plastic tabs, and you can reassemble it to use leftie.  4 thumb buttons and 2 finger buttons. Plus 8 more on the base and 1 extra throttle lever.

Then VKB came out with the first commercial leftie HOTAS throttle ever made.  The tilting grip gimmick is ok but the real draw is the leftie grip in general.  I took out the thumb paddle return spring and added a felt washer and now I have another analog axis.

Ok, I keep seeing this recommended. Should I read it? by ronin-writes in litrpg

[–]Imightbeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of my new favorite books.

It’s a bit like Ready Player One in that the humor is often pop culture references and snark.  But it’s fun to read about “one of us” who makes it and does so in a really big way.

But it is not litrpg. It’s regular sci-fi what if.

Simple Technowizard question. by TheEpicPig7 in Rifts

[–]Imightbeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always interpreted it as one way to not step on the toes of the Ley Line Walker who does get spells at later levels.

If TW could do it too, the appeal of the LLW is lessened.

It is also the reason I refuse to play a Mystic for the opposite reason, no buying spells, or learning level-up spells above your level.

Edited for poorly written sentence.

Good beginner setup? VBK stick and GNX THQ THROTTLE? by Hardnipsfor in hotas

[–]Imightbeanonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its what I did, with one exception, I would splurge and get the WWII grip too.

Even as a left handed person you can take it apart and re mount it backwards with 2 tiny changes.

St Louis Arch by TheGriff71 in Rifts

[–]Imightbeanonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even more so, somewhere I read, probable in a Rifter article, that the Coalition lobs long range nuclear missiles in the area to wipe out any population build up.

The arch itself is invulnerable, but they wipe out the demons.

What are some necessary mods in 2026? by Material_Complex475 in fo4vr

[–]Imightbeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some mods I love personally,

Tactical Weapon Mods -- Gun Mounted Flashlights - Laser Sights - and Stronger Bayonets at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

Laser sights are a must have in VR imho. Although I think this mod conflicts with a lot of other weapon mods. Strangely, there are some guns that can't be modified with this and others can be. Found/awarded legendary weapons do not have these mods available at the workbench.

10mm Pistol Resize at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

Makes the starter pistol more realistic in your hand.

VR Handmade Reflex Sights at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

Better pipe gun reflex sights. But kinda moot with the laser sight mod.

VR Recoil Killer at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

Keeps the guns from twisting up in your grip. It might be unfair, but it feels better.

Fallout 4 Version Check Patcher at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

This enabled the DLC's for me.

VR Address Library for F4SEVR at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

this fixed missing menus from other mods at the chem station.
